What's better than a cable tied fan to the core of a shiny new aluminium rad? well pretty much everything actually. One of those things is making up a simple shroud from aluminium to create negative pressure allowing the fan to pull air through the whole of the radiator core thus increasing the efficiency of the fan to around 90%. Rather than, you know...cable ties...and an efficiency of the fan diameter on the core. I also riveted the boot floor in place finally, so much better in aluminium. It's not complete but it's no longer a catflap. More thrilling updates soon.

Cheers Matt, The HRF Gold is very similar to the gold high temp paint you can buy on Ebay etc, it's just a bright gold. I'll redo the camcover once she's running again. If you're in no rush I'll sort out a tin. The plastic is 3mm polypropelene, again from ebay. It's about £15 for two sheets big enough for door cards and is a simple job to do (like the windows).

You could weld it in without much hassle...but you could do it yourself by cutting a section from the pipe, inserting a silicone T piece and attaching the BOV to that If you're in no rush, let me see what I get up to! I've done the exact same thing, the BOV is welded right up near the throttle body.

funny you should say that si..I've been toying with the thought of getting a little mig setup to make a fuel tank etc. Might look into it. That's the one thing I haven't done yet is welding, if I got some welding gear I'd go mental.

I've taken the rad off this morning as I'm pretty much waiting on welding work inside now. I'm going to make a shroud for the rad to make better use of the fan that was cable tied to the core....

Another day, another update...getting there slowly

The shifter move was something I wanted to do ever since the engine went in..although I've not driven the car with it in that position it 'feels' right. Very much like a rally car with a long sequential shifter, the point was to shorten the distance for gear changes so until I drive it again I won't know if it's successful. Si, please PLEASE come and spray the whole interior black for me

Aside from removing the hangers from the old fuel tank I've run out of stuff to do now until I get some welding done on the car and the fuel cell made up!

Another little update

I have noticed the amount of odd banter has increased of late, people saying they want to rub themselves on me...which is flatering but slightly disturbing. I've just watched the video and believe me, it's shit. The bullet cam comes lose and falls in the tub, so I won't bother posting it. Made me realise how much a Radical would try to kill me constantly, more reason to finish the EP and live a while longer.

I'm Operations Manager from an online Gambling company...it was a corporate event at Rockingham. Start in Formula Rockingham, into F3 cars then into the F1 above. I span in the F3 like a noob. The F1 car was fun, the pickup was quite something, 600hp 600kg...and yes...I did video it

haha! Enzo, came close and probably selling is the best option but I just can't do it when it boils down to it. Last year at the Ring and in general to be honest, I'm too forgiving with cars...this year I got used to the track a little more and when I take the EP again I'll make a better job of it. You can see from the video that I'm almost always in the wrong gear and never really push it fully. Tomorrow I have an 'event' at Rockingham, if the weather holds it promises to be quite interesting. It all helps improve technique.

Why would I drive a house round the Ring ecks?

My wife's given up on me I think...plus she knows if she complains my solution is to buy another car. Still contemplating stripping the EP as I haven't even taken the cover off it yet in 3 weeks. I've made a deal with my wife that if we buy a house I buy a Radical SR3.

cheers Phil! It's broken at the moment, suspect bushes (hope bushes). Jag is in bits with a wheel bearing replacement and EP is in no fit state to drive. 3 cars, all broken...awesome.

I've kept the R subtle as it's the family car. Black xenons, badges, carbon bonnet, carbon filter and 6 pot Porsche turbo brakes. Understeers a lot but is progressive and easy to read.

The Golf is pretty damn sexy at munching Ring too...taken Sunday Notice my wife along for the ride on one lap!
