  1. ive tried resseting the ecu and trying for fault codes befopre and after but to no avail .. Getting stressed now..
  2. im having what appears to be ignition related issues, ive tried different leads apart from the king lead, is their any one who has even a standard one spare i could borrow/buy in glasgow/ek ? Clip type
  3. no i couldnt because the other king lead was gubbed. i dont have another lead to try... thats really the only other thing i could try but i dont know any one who can give me a loan of one
  4. i only run 1 bar, but this is off boost, i dont even get to have any boost..
  5. Changed the leads with 2nd hand leads and no different. Checked the plugs and they r fine, but the sides of the metal tip are white. No smoke but the stutter is mainly at 2200rpm to 2600rpm.. Any suggestions ?
  6. yeh thats what i thought also! ive seen worse. not even getting boost, as soon as you try get accelerating it splutters. bought new plugs and its just the same, im borrowing leads from a mate to see if that helps. i ordered a cap into toyota but if you dont think it needs it then i wont bother with it.. im running a dastek unit, i was only getting miss fire higher up the range in 3rd really but strange how it suddenly got so bad after i changed the rotar arm and cleaned the plugs.. i started a new thread in "engines " with more detail and pics..

  9. Hi guys i posted a threat in the ignition bit a few weeks ago as i had what i heard was a miss fire high revs in 3rd and sometimes 2nd. So i went out and cleaned the plugs (iradium grade 7( like a year old as they wernt that bad and i tried to adjust the gap very slightly which i now know these dont like and changed the rotar arm. So put it back together and went out, any kind of throttle and it starts to miss, especially between 2200rpm and 2800rpm, so you could be in 2nd at 1300rpm and try accelerate about 40% throttle and its blurb blurb blurb.. so i ordered some new plugs and i

  13. I went out today and changed the rotar arm and cleaned the plugs. They where capped at .75 so I slightly gapped to .80 but now the miss fire is awful, any kind of boost and it starts to splitter.. the plugs looked ok, not white and not black. Only about a year old . Any suggestions ?

  15. i started getting a slight miss at low RPM when pulling away and i cleaned the dozzy points and rotar arm which seemed to help it. then i got this fuel leak and after replacing all the seals it felt like it ran alot quicker, so wot in 3rd about 5k rpm i started getting some missing but im sure i heard a little in 2nd also which made me wonder if maybe ive had this little leak for a while as ive always smelt a little petrol in the cabin.. petrol usage now seems alright and about average, i had something simular on my last gt and it was a ignition lead im sure but just seems strange to be h
  16. ive went and bought a spark plug socket, brush and feeler gauge to rule the plugs out, and ive just ordered a new rotar arm from ID-workz to keep it fresh and again rule that out..
  17. ive been getting a slight miss fire when pulling away on low RPM lately so i tried cleaning the dizzy points and rotart arm which i think helped and then my fuel rail came loose when driving and sprayed fuel everywhere so got that put back in and kept getting a horrible smell of petrol constantly but didnt see anything obvious. on friday i then noticed drips of fuel from one of the injectors so got all the seals replaced that night and the car was running great but then i noticed i was getting some miss firing in 3rd on WOT.. so i put it in 2nd and again WOT and noticed some very slight s
  18. What's your setup bud? Do u get much spin? And u feel it better in the turns etc? Never drove with an lsd before
  19. Do u guys think going from a standard gearbox to a standard lsd is worthwhile if the price is right? I'm getting fed up with spinning in the wet constant..
  20. i run a dastek pal, mapped by HQ in fife. Seems to do the job! i run mine on a hybrid ct9 etc and it pulls pretty well! im not sure how it compares to other ecu equipment though.
  21. shaun i agree, of course the power to weight aspect comes into it, i just wondered if their was any small changed that any one has common knowledge of that improves performance other than big changes. im running good leads, grade 7 plugs, dastek, hybrid-1Bar, fmic, rrfpr, front air filter etc. i think tbh the next best thing i can do is get a lsd fitted for quicker launching rather than waiting until my revs are past 3k rpm before planting it..
  22. i appreciate the comments but no one is perfect and wither you think its a risk or not is your opinion and your entitled to it but as the comment doesnt help with my questions i would rather you didnt. im running a Dastek piggy back mate mapped by HQ in fife running 1Bar. the Air con is taken out already and removing the back seats isnt really an option.. so other than use a carbon bonnet and plastic windows etc i dont think i'll get much less. Perhaps we just expect too much from these little cars after all the scoob will be 220bhp standard before any mods etc, sure its heavier bu

So guys ive got all the usual mods including a speed vision gen2 hybrid and a dastek piggyback etc running around 1bar.. although it feel reasonably quick with just me or with 1 passenger, any more and its obviously just not the same in terms of pulling.. i had a play with a mate at a closed strip with his scooby wrx which appears to be near standard apart from filter and exhaust fmic etc. if i have 2 passengers and he has one from 40mph their isnt much in it! if we have 1 each from 40 i pull away quicker to about 75 and then its even pretty much which i just dont think is right!
