Can't argue with that riko, point well made. I'm glad I never bought rota's when I wanted them 2 years back.
-
My attempt was even more ghetto... 2 pairs of sport socks! Didn't really have much effect though.

You don't get l-zero 1's, there were comp 2's and comp l-zero's first (which I have), then the range of zero 1's (non damping adjustable), zero 2's (damping adjustable), zero 2R's (lighter weight than normal 2's and inverted shocks) and zero 2E's (the electronically adjustable one's). I'm just specifically speaking about starlets, Ragger yours look like zero 1's but if they are dampig adjustable they have been modified (by changing the shock) and are basically zero 2's now.

Sounds like your hitting fuel cut, a very common problem, its is over boosting.

Yeah, the glanza headlights look much better anyway! I think there's also a bonnet for sale on here too. Edit: Bonnet and lights for sale here and voila one sexy glanza front end! http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....ic=9505&hl= Would be perfect if your starlet is white, but I bet its not!

Rear lights will fit straight on, but you might need to do something with the reverse light depending on which lenses you get. At the front you'll need the lights and bonnet for the bumper to fit properly.... I've got a white glanza bumper for sale here: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9589

The picture on that link is awesome! They've photoshopped on an esprit and a boxster to make the place look better, and the sign isn't even real!

Just about to buy a Glanza
WallaceGlanza replied to Randy McShag Swindon's topic in Lifestyle General
Not on glanza's no, it doesnt need changed. You'll need a band expander for the radio to pick up uk stations but it should stil turn on. You can buy speedo converters off ebay, a good importer would fit it for you. You'll have to clock the oddometer to get it back in miles which could damage it, just take note of the reading in km then once its converted it will count up in miles. Its kinda hard to throw up a picture and label exactly where everything is, when you need to do something just ask about that specific bit. They come with a recirculating valve which you won't hear unless it has an open air filter fitted. There should be metal clips that go into plastic ones on the floor, they're maybe just not lined up properly. Yes, but it was an optional extra, it should say starlet on it. They do unless its a poverty version, on the 96/97 model its on the centre console next to the hazard light switch, on the 98/99 model its on the right of the steering wheel, it has lo written on it. When the car is in low boost the 4th green led in the centre of the rev counter will be lit up. Phew, hope that helps, welcome to the site. -
Its one of the one's that Dave Burwash used to sell.... mine didn't last long.

Also you won't make much over 190bhp on the stock turbo, thats right at its limits.
-
Well it might be at that it shouldn't be far off, depends how the map on the jam ecu is. Get it rolling roaded when you get it. I'm running basically the same mods except I have a GReddy emanage where you have the jam and I'm running 189.8bhp, so I'm quite close to 190bhp.
-
where does your temp needle sit?
WallaceGlanza replied to scutch0's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Well your engine won't be running at itsproper operating temperature so its better to get it changed. It only costs like 15 quid for a new thermostat and is piss easy to change. -
Yeah looks really nice, you should be running close to 180bhp. Its got a very good spec, you won't need a sard rrfpr as the jam ecu will sort your fuelling out and will be good for 1 bar.

what fog bulbs does 96 spec bumper take?

Pm'd mate.

There's nothing that wil fit straight in, but pretty much anything will fit with a bit of welding. You can also get zep or bride subframes to suit most recaros (or bride's surprisingly) from toytuning. There's a nice set of seats from a dodge viper srt on ebay at the moment... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HIGHBACK-WING-RECARO...1QQcmdZViewItem

my red jam ep91 ( update 24-2-09) page6
WallaceGlanza replied to a topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Sound mate, definately will need to do that, won't be until july that I'm back like but at least the roads should be dry then! -
Wow very nice!

You've set it at 2?! Was that by guess work? The normal setting for a starlet is 8, 7 if your running a lot of mods or high boost. The fcd alters the pressure signal from the map sensor sent to the ecu so that it see's the boost as being lower than it actually is which means it will lean out the air fuel mixture more, if you get any boost creep you will run majorly lean and pretty much definately do some damage and you won't know this by looking at the temperature gauge. I would've first tried to find out why the car was juddering like you say it was, your just masking the problem fitting the fcd, ot solving it. But hey it's your car, you know best...
-
Hmmm interesting, the way I did it (I have cusco coilies too) is just adjusted it so the spring was just held by the ring whilst it was jacked up for no preload on the springs, but i guess the proper way to do it for no preload is the way you've done it so the springs just rest on the rings after the car is lowered down. I might have to go and play with mine as I'd like them just a little less firm.
-
Are you stil adjusting the coilovers at this point? If you put the car down with the adjusting rings in that position, ie not on the spring, then the springs won't do anything? Or do the adjusting rings come up to just meet the spring when the car is put down on the ground?
-
The car is looking really good mate, the carribean colour really suits the glanza look. I really need to get a front splitter, the bumper looks poop without it.

There's a guy on tgtt just fitted one of them he's pretty happy with it and the service from the seller. Its similar and design and layout to the GReddy one. http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/showthread.php?t=9434
