  1. not wanting to highjack but does somebody have a pic of a hdi intercooler with a 98spec bumper? i have a japspeed at the moment but do not like the routing going up and above the manifold. gonna fit a 98spec bumper soon but i am curious how much cutting a 98spec would need. thanks!
  2. Thanks, good info there FYI my current springs are about 7 years old, how long to springs tend to last?
  3. yup i am going to anybody got experience with any springs? please share ;) really intrested in buying any of the above but cant really find feedback from any owners on them. i am lokoing for shocks with a propper spring rate to work together with all my other goodies, espec the trd shocks.
  4. yes i am shure, cause when i turn up the dial they get rock hard harsh, handeling goed way up but it simply is tooo harsh to drive propperly then. Thats why i think the current shocks ad spring combination is not working propperly bringing the whole thing out of balance.
  5. thanks for the info i am looking for springs that are not made for standard shocks, if you knwo what i mean ;) the current shocks are wway to soft, worn out or may have always been like this. The effect you get is that when steering in to a corner or on bumps the car feels to bouncy. When i turn the shocks stiffer it help but the springs still seem to compress to easy, which the in turn launch back up and gives the bouncy feeling. Anyway that what i think is going on.
  6. Yes another question about springs! to start with: my current setup: Whiteline RARB Tom's front strutbar Tom's rear strutbar TRD adjustable shocks Eibach (35mm) lowering springs the car handles OK, but not more than that. My gf's lil brother just bought a V and suspensionwise only has coilovers fitted. His V isn't setup much harsher then mine but it handles a million times better!!! I aint happy, for him i am but not for me Biggest difference is bodyroll, so it got me thinking. My conclusion is that the springs, that are almost 10 years old now, are f*cked and worn out and messing up the
  7. i Have had an N/A and a Glanza and have fitted all sorts of handling parts: RARB strutbars> front, rear C-pillar bar panhard rods shocks and without a doubt for me the biggest difference was in the RARB, so get that first. Even if its the only thing ou get handling wise.
  8. it does depend what matierial you rap it in, i imagine if you rap shitty stainles t304 like one of those crappy jap speed ebay manifolds it would crack pretty quick to be honest.. vs. it also regulates the warmup/cooldown of the manifold (ie. it's slower) which greatly helps with keeping manifolds crack free. Personally i think everybody agrees it helps to lower under bonnet temps, whatever the impact of that effect may be. Mainly the question is: Does it prevent or provoke cracking??? lots of different very strong opposing opinions... and what about wrapping intercooler pipes?
  9. So i read LOTS of stuff about heat wrap, and i want your opinions!! 1. does wrapping the manifold make it crack faster or prevent it from cracking? (does the steel crack from high temps or from the rapid cooling<>heating process) 2. do you want to wrap intercooler pipes? (does this keep the pipes from heating up or trap the heat in the pipes? any other info/opinions are very welcome!!
  10. like he says ^ i had same kinda problem, turned out to be wishbone, is it a specfic area it comes from? i.e. left or right or is it from directly under the hood?
  11. hehhehe indeed my girlfriends lil brother is prob gonna buy it, so another V in the family
  12. boost gauge is in place, hence a know what boostlevels it was hitting. Thanks for the info, actuator is most probably the problem and not such a problem then i.e. replace > done
  13. spring worn out or something? Car responded fine and not boost drop higher in the revs, so yeah could be a worn out actuator. Nothing serious probably then?
  14. Went for a test drive yesterday in a V. My girlfriends lil brother is looking to get one, so he brought me along checked it all out and looked all stock, then we went for a drive. even the high and lowboost seemed to be in place, only: 1st gear was .3 bar of boost 2nd gear and on was .6 further along i noticed then when accelerating hard, the boost always spiked up to .8 for just a SLIGHT moment and dropped down straight away to .6 Is this usual or is there a leak somewhere or anything else? thanks in advance!
  15. it looks great, the entire car, somehow i didnt come across this thread, so i'm really suprised, some quality mods you got there!
  16. looking quality!!!! so thats how a cusco cage looks like :harhar: the 2 rear bars stretch far enough so you could retain you rear seating i think. The bar next to the seats, at the B-pillar, seems to stick out rather far isn't it?
  17. It all comes down to the the budget you have. But seriously just replacing worn out parts with shiny fresh OEM ones always will give an improvement. My black N/A brakes WAAAAAAAAAAY better then my Glanza at the moment, simply caus my N/A has fresh new OEM pads and discs, my Glanza is in desperate need of replacing the discs+pads... IF you have the cash get uprated pads or braided lines, but i think just replacing the pads/discs will make all the difference you are looking for. If then later on you want more "pedal feel" you can always install a BMCS yourself. Thats the reason i would advi
  18. Congrats man!! well deservered!!
  19. hahah so true, that the best comment so far :harhar:
  20. to be honest, just new OEM ones will already make a huge difference! On my old N/A EP91 they also had to be replaced, after the brake in period they felt like a million dollars compared to the worn out ones. I did get new front discs to though. At the moment my old N/A, which is my lil borthers now, brakes ten times better then my glanza!!! just because it has fresh new brakes alround. If it other components youre talking about, replcing the brakefluid is always a good thing to do after a few years. I have heard lots of great thing about the BMCS. I did not fit mine yet so can't comment on
  21. Lynx is called Axe in the netherlands ;) and i ALWAYS had i yellow tree in my black-yellow EP91
  22. it really does i got the fogs on their way from Japan, and alraady have the grill and brackets. i am building a full JAM replica front, that means a 98spec bumper/eyebrows and reverse scoop. Should be done somewhere August. I also hope to get my Sparco's fitted as they are sitting in my garage driving me crazy looking all so new and confortable! Than its back to performance parts as i have a decat, manifold and actuator waiting to get installed. Got all the seals for them to.
