Saw your car yesterday Jay, its looking the flippin nuts now! Can't be long now surely and you will be driving the beast
-
Thanks Sparkster Its amazing what rolling it outside will do! Not like much more has actually been done but just having it outside and taking pictures makes it look so much nicer. Exhaust and driveshafts are next on the list, will update in the next week or so ;)
-
top parts can be large air ducts i guess The look will change as we add more parts so may have to get most of the parts on there then get a load of cardboard and start adding pieces to see what she will look like. Jason ;)

You know what i never thought of filling in the top rear parts like that Was just going to do the lower parts, that would give more room for graphics i guess. Don't look too bad Steve, almost looks like the rage style buggy now...........
-
yes filling in the side bits. Will be black frame with bright green arch's, nosecone and other parts. Sides will probably be black and they will be fully vinyl'd up with a crazy manga/race style design

Thanks Luke, don't think Scary is the word ;) Thanks Steve ;)

Thanks Steve, i know what you mean, it gets rolled outside and you stand back and look at it and it looks SOOOO much different its unreal. Its really getting there now and the end is sort of insight. Apparently Lee (the elctric guru) at TGT is dying to start the wiring so i think he is going to start getting his head round that. James is going to make the exhaust system and mock up the driveshafts next week so i can send them off to be sleeved soon after. You think it looks ok then Steve? Something doesn't look right to me with the back and i think it needs something. and thats the part that

*** Small update but lots of pics *** Well its been one of those weeks really. Been waiting for some material to arrive so i can get on it but nothing has arrived yet Oh well, still had a chance to do a few things. Started looking at the thottle pedal and how im going to do that. I have a Starlet pedal left over so decided to basterdise that and try and work something out. I think i can get it to work and will be loads better than what i have already. The starlet pedal has a proper bracket and spring so its a nice setup and i just need to work out cable attachment and some sort of rubber bu

This is complete sex!!!!!! You cleaning up the inlet manifold? I thought you would be going for a race-tech jobby Jason
-
Mook is a legend, im dying to get my buggy finished so i can hand it over to him for Graphics!

I have them on mine as well, going to be a harsh enough ride anyway, the poly mounts will ensure my back is snapped in half and not just fractured

Would A 205 Gti Engine Fit In My 1986 Starlet
jason_l replied to naylor's topic in Welcome New Owners!
Its different i will give ya that! Yes im guessing it could be made to fit, its like anything really, how much time and money do you want to spend? Im guessing something like this hasn't really been done and you won't have anyone who will be able to advise but would be possible. They are roughly the same size engine bay i guess so would fit. The problem will be when you come to connecting things up, driveshafts will need to be custom made unless you convert the hubs to peugot and then the rest of it. Personally i would stick with a jap engine but thats me, if you really want to put a 205gt -
Hi all, I spoke to a member about this briefly a few weeks back but just wanted to find out a little more. Im planning on running a Tongs Hybrid CT9 but as this turbo has a larger intake then it starts getting cramped for the intake and the oil filter. I know that most air filter relocation kits come off the turbo with a 90 degree bend but as mines a different project it would be ideal if i can run the pipework straight off the turbo and out the side of the frame. So speaking to this member he mentioned that some of the remote oil filter kits come off of the engine block, rather than the oi

Yes i have done some of the CAD work for him. I can get a quote for ya for the flanges if you like and i won't charge for the CAD work so you would only pay for the flange itself. Cheapest option will be to basterdize the original mani's though but your chioce. Thanks Steve, its really coming along now although will slow up a little now for a few weeks but will get some really good pics next weekend thanks to Gav

Yes his work is very good, i take it you had a look over my fuel tank and intercooler pipework. Think he's using it as a show piece to show what he can do. I do some of the CAD work for parts for him, i did some of the CAD work for the flanges on the MR2 inlet he made and have done other stuff so i might do the parts for your exhaust manifold Yes, seen the Supra/RX7, it sounds evil when started up! Im usually up there working on mine when the other guy is working on the RX7. Think his is almost done now, just needs a few other little parts doing. Jason
-
LOL thanks dude, everyone is getting to see my intercooler pipework before i do You looking at James making you a inlet for your throttle bodies? Jason
-
Bro had to brake the MR2 as he has a kid on the way and is now staying in Japan for good, oh well, idiot if you ask me but its his chioce I have only just seen the pics now of the intercooler pipework, James is a LEGEND!!!!!! For everyone else this is what it looks like.......... Makes the intercooler look tiny but i think its looks awsome. I was going to go for a HUGE intercooler but needed some rearward vision for the IVA test so decided on the smaller version. James is a legend for getting this done so quickly and im so glad i have him to help with this project, i really could not ha
-
All good dude. You shouldn't have any problems fitting them its pretty straight forward.
-
LOL. Did you get yours ok mate? I gave the package to the misses to post. Jason

Hope this comes true Think i might have to start saving now!!!!!!! Small + RWD = WIN!

Ep82 - Stripped Out How Light Can I Go?
jason_l replied to Taggy's topic in Performance & Track Days
Steve's got a good piont there. Just rip out anything ya don't need. You then need to start looking at weight distribution, like moving battery to the rear, smaller fuel tank and replacing front items with carbon parts to try and get a 50/50 weight distribution. -
Ep82 - Stripped Out How Light Can I Go?
jason_l replied to Taggy's topic in Performance & Track Days
Was going to say look at NightSpirits old EP, that was uber light. Think his was 750kg??? but i could have been lighter, was defo 700 something. Its all about being lightweight, i know mine is stupidly light but when mines all done and road legal im going to start trying to make it lighter. I am aiming for 550kg with the aim of shaving about 10-20kg after its road legal. That mixed with about 200+ bhp should be interesting -

Thanks Steve I love those hoses so much, everytime i see them i just can't help looking at them and im really looking forward to Gav getting some nicer pictures of the Demon. James has hopefully got the intercooler mounted and the pipework made up, if not finished. Will speak to him in a minute about it and hopefully update in a bit. I now have no money to spend on the Demon for this month so im just going to get on with parts i can do without spending anything. Paint rear calipers, making another 2 arch's. Start making wiring loom, polishing parts etc. I have to go abroad next month for m
