Just a very quick post to say............... Its ok people i am still alive! Hospital has been a complete pain in the arse! Operation went very well and although i was out of it for a few days i started getting better at a good rate. Then the problems started. I was just about to be let out last week and they noticed that i had a high temperature and had got an infection from somewhere so i was then put on antibiotics for several days. Then my Walfarin level went so high that technically my blood was as thin as water so they kept me in for a few more days. Now they are sayng that there is something not right with my liver and its effecting the Walfarin levels. To say im getting pissed off is an understatement. Every day i see a different doctor and every day i get told something new. Yesterday was my birthday and i just flipped! I shouldn't of taken it out on the doctor but i am going crazy stuck in a hospital bed with nothing to do and feeling pretty good considering what has been done. They said they are 'keeping a close eye on me' which means a blood test in the morning and then the doctor looks at the results shortly after. After lots of 'strong words' they finally decided to let me out of hospital last night as it was my birthday and they could see im going insane. Went back to the hospital this morning and i have picked up my big bag of drugs and disscharge letter So im finally free!!!!! Just thought i would post up though as technically i have been off the face of the earth since before the Op. I know i have alot of stuff that i have to pay for also (clear cam belt/oil return line/inlet manifold) and will get deposits/monies sent off tomorrow after some sleep I would like to say a big thankyou to all the forum messages of support!!!! Will be back in force soon! Jason

Hmmm. I think without, but if you do keep them on the car then you should spray the ends white so it keeps the same lines as the bonnet, if you get me

Thanks Mate Tis getting there but slowly. Work has stopped on this now as i go into hospital on Tuesday. TGT have my lexus in for servicing and a few bits that need doing so will be working on that over then next few weeks. But James is planning a whole week solid of working on the Buggy within the next few months so will be well on its way. Plan is to get the engine out and fully painted and cleaned, new clutch and the lsd gearbox fitted and then back in the buggy. Then finish off all the welding/engineering parts and hopefully get the driveshafts on order. Then the final build...............with any luck. Won't get all of that done in the week but should be well on the way. Would like to say i have driven it off the road but its a long way off being used

repair it!!!!! keep it and enjoy it

True To be honest i would love to get it looking like the second one but by the time i have it up and running im not really going to want to strip it all back down to the frame and rework the kit/respray etc. I am doing the design in the first sketch and then it will probably stay that way for good to be honest. and will be lighter.....
-
*** Design finalised *** Ok, just a small update but worth sharing me thinks Got home yesterday and my bro had done a few sketch's of what he thinks the buggy should look like. He did graphic design at uni and his drawing skills are a little better than mine. He did a quick sketch and im in love!!!! This is pretty much the plan now on how the buggy will look. As this is going to take a while to do then its not going to get done straight away, plan is to get the thing up and running and hopefully road legal over the summer. Then if that happens it will undergo the transformation over the winter months when i won't be using it. The first picture shows what the first stage will look like then the side panels will be changed over later. If i don't get it road legal by the summer then i will go for the full kit straight away and hopefully have it oin the road and looking like the second picture by next summer. First design.............. And what i will be aiming for............ I absolutely love this look and think it looks great but would love to hear your thoughts people Jason

Thanks Stuart, something like that may work
-
hmmmm. don't know if something like that will work??? i want to get some mesh over the rad to protect it a little. Have seen that website, thats what my buggy is meant to look like mate did look like that for a little while......
-
Think i may just house the rad in a bit and leave it for the moment. Don't need to be pedestrian friendly but needs to have a radius on most edges.
-
Hmmmmm...... what to do, what to do??? You may be right bucket, might just start by doing a simple housing for the radiator then at a later date do a full nosecone. choices, choices.........
-
*** mini update *** Well got up to TGT on the weekend and spoke to James about a few things. As i have my operation date now i have ok'd the next lot of work to be done on the buggy as i have a bit more cash to spend on it now. I got the radiator and the twin fans on the car, actually helps visualise how the front will look better. I Have an idea in my head of how i want the front to look now. Large centre intake with an adjustable front diffuser. Did a quick photoshop (and i mean quick) and here is how it came out, second one is probably the best version. Still needs a bit of work but you get the general idea. If anyone wants to have a go themselves then by all means have a go. Jason

Hi Ricky, Don't blame you for not reading the whole topic, its huge Yes will be fully road legal, like you say its a lot of money and time not to be. Will need mud gaurds to make it road legal anyway, just one of the things i haven't got round to it yet lots of other bits need sorting out first! Looking forward to getting some of your parts on there Jason

Honestly dude its fine im actually laughing my head off reading some of these posts. Thanks for thinking about my feelings though, nobody else has
-
LOL don't worry i look on the bright side of it Like you said Luke, otherwise you just get all miserable all the time. Its out of my hands so there is no point in worrying about something that i have no control over! Now i will be able to add to the 'jdm sayings post' ............im so jdm my heart valve is carbon! @ boostjunkie, its the mechanical one you can't drink with, so i will be off the booze for good. Well, i am allowed 2 pints! problem is it takes me 3 pints to get drunk Still be able to enjoy some Saki, just in moderation
-
Its Fucked! Its actually me Aortic Valve, was dodgy from birth and its got worse, alot worse! Im only 26 but it needs to be replaced. Getting replaced with a carbon fibre mechanical version and i will be on Walfarin for life. But if it keeps me alive then its all good They have said its a 'routine' operation so im not even phassed about it to be honest. In fact im actually looking forward to it and the 3 months off work on full pay
-
Hi All, Just a quick one to keep everyone in the loop! Finally after weeks of waiting today was the last day that the NHS had to get back to me with a date for my Heart Operation and guess what no letter To say i was fed up is an understatement! I am getting soooo tired now all the time its just unreal. I go to work and try and work but need to sit down nearly every hour or so to catch my breath and then at the end of the day i go home and im pretty much ready to fall asleep! I decided to phone them up this morning and after going from department to department finally got directed to the right place. All the doctors where in a meeting so was told they would call back. She did say that there was no date confirmed over the phone so i would be looking at another 2-3 weeks at the least! Well they just called back and have said they have a time available on the 10th of February (i will go in on the 9th) and i have accepted as if i wait any longer i feel i really will be in trouble! The sooner i get my life back to normal the better!!! Jason

LOL i am always one step ahead of you Sparkster I had that idea originally and was going to do something similar with a huge adjustable wing that went right the way across the front. Problem is now i have the rad moved to the front i need a large intake to get air to it. I think the way to go is to make a ply frame that will mount to the front and has a few shapes/ducts built into it, then stretch some material over it to create a rough design. Few litres of resin sets it hard, then a couple layers of fibreglass over the top and i have a basic/rough nosecone. a LOT of sanding/filling/preping later and i will have a more detailed nose cone. Will then take moulds and make a couple of spare nosecones, maybe slightly different version??? Drag nosecone, hill climb nosecone and road use maybe? Means it makes more work for myself but oh well, would be funny going to a meet with a different front end each time LOL Jason
-
Problem is that it sort of needs to go up to that level as all the gubbins are underneath it. Brake and clutch reserviours and fusebox etc. Agree with the front tho and thats already what i am planning on doing Going to have a smaller front duct either side of the main duct that will vent a bit of air onto the brakes etc Think im going to just make a nosecone from scratch as i would have to modify the caterham one so much that it hardly seems worth it More work but should look better ;)
-
I think you may have it sparky! Thats exactly what it looks like. At first i thought it looked like some big mouthed fish or a whale shark but i think you may be right. Im watching a locost nose cone on ebay at the moment, don't know if i will get it or if i should just make something from scratch???

well stop wasting time changing your avatar/signature every 5 minutes and get your name down

Hi Nutnut, Thanks for all your help and don't worry you didn't hold me up too much May just give you a call at sometime after my heart operation if i need a hand Lovely lookling Glanza you have also, love the jdm parking pole I have done a small little mockup of the Demon with a caterham style nosecone on it. Don't know what people think of it? im still unsure if i like it or not??? comments welcome people............. Jason

Thanks mate, tis getting there.....slowly but getting there. Not using led lights, im just using landrover style cheapo lights. They are £3 a light and are easy to replace/fix if they break. Didn't want to go for really expensive ones as they will more than likely get damaged etc Jason
