  3. I wouldn't worry about leaving half an hour. The trick I always use is to disconnect battery, switch headlights on as it will drain any residual current. Then I tend to work to the side of the wheel incase something goes amiss and it does blow it won't go in my face or injure me

  9. Evo VI are epic cars I sold my TME this year to downsize and Id have another, but I would def keep this EP as a daily/pocket rocket. I know an Evo owner who has one as a daily, and Skyline owner who has an EP82 as a daily and they spend more money tweeking their EP than they do their big toys and drive them more lol.
  10. Having sold several EPs for the likes of Impreza, GT4, Evo5, 6, S14a, R32gtr, I can tell you for now keep the EP, use it as a daily and buy whatever it is you want on top. Otherwise you will sell the V and regret it trust me I have done it 6 times now lol.
  11. As said previously oil is primary cooling (and lubrication) coolant is there if the turbo has a small bearing housing/core as the heat dissipation isn't great. You could run without if you ran an oil cooler maybe. As I work for Holset (Cummins Turbos) I can tell you for free that we dont put water cooling in unless it is needed. But most of our FG and WG stuff isn't water cooled.

    EMB VS EMU

    EMU has 2step/launch control its worth it for that alone!!! lol. Chris14a has it on his car (not sure if he plays with it, but I set it up)

  23. I've had dodgy thermostats and I've never had the temp shoot up. Normally the opposite won't get warm air, and temp gauge doesn't rise

  25. If we need external wast gates to manage higher boost pressures maybe it's a sign to get a bigger turbo. Shows the compressor side maybe able to deliver the mass flow requirements but the turbine side is mis matched to what people are trying to run :-) I realise bigger turbos mean more money, but do toyota not have anything in their catalogue with a slightly bigger turbine housing to aid the flow, this could help reduce the compressor pressure ratio (ie run less boost, this will in turn lower the COT and bring the the compressor side back into the efficiency island). Just a thought folks :-)
