  1. Cheers Geo Well I'm hoping it'll be something really special As many will know my car has been off the road for 3/4 years now and the idea of what I wanted to do has changed so much especially over the last 12 to 18 months. My idea has gone from a turbo coversion with a new paint job to be a show car, to a track car but not just any track car a balls out bold idea utilising ideas I've picked up from a number places. But the 3 main things I am doing that are different to the norm (in the UK starlet scene) is seam welding the shell, changing the roof skin and finally have a profesinally inst
  2. Aiming to be finished in the next 10 months mate.
  3. Cheers Rick But I actually ordered some of the Bilt Hamber deox gel on Thursday, Hopefully it'll be here on monday along with some etch primer. Made some good progess but not as much as I would like!!
  4. Cheers mate the more the merrier!! Can't depend on Rob to give me a hand
  5. Just a quick update for today: Had the week off work but only really spent about 6 or 7 hours on the car Made a start removing seam sealer, rust and paint in the engine bay. Also done some work on the drivers arch. Got some Argoshield light for the MIG welder and built my MIG welder up only to realise that I have to install a new supply just for the welder as it does not work off a 13A socket!! Here's some pictures anyway
  6. Alright little buddy Far better colour than last time, looks very nice matey
  7. Good you've got your wheels dude, but not good about the damage You claiming back you're incurred costs from Parcel Force? Plus, take a loom at my post its updated because we've finally got broadband again!! Nath
  8. Mikey Jay you're such a f**k whit He means my wife
  9. Just a quick update for tonight (No pictures today!!) Spent about hour at it removed the 2 outer parts that were left from the front seats rail. Boy it was hard work, I've killed a spot weld drill already!!! Well its a bit more out, tomorrow will get the centre section out. Then I can get on with removing the rest of the seam sealer inside, then the real fun begins I can seam weld
  10. I have 10 to 11 months to complete it. I aiming to get it caged before xmas, but it all depends when I can get it booked in for? I aim to get it painted early in the new year and while it is away being caged we'll rebuild the engine. Should be ready to start seam welding internally by(maybe) next weekend. When I do get the new rear beam made (probably after it is on the road!!) I can arrange to have 2 made if you want?
  11. I can understand where you are coming from Rick, I had thought about doing this already. However the reason I didn't is because of the pain and heart ache I will have to go through to achieve my goals. There will be alot more engineering involved it utilising a rear subframe and making fully independant and I simply don't have the time to put in in the timescale I have to get it complete.
  12. I'm designing a new rear beam arrangement so I will have adjustment of camber and toe in. Can go for a radical change as I've spent quite a bit on whiteline ARB and an RSR Pan hard rod!!
  13. Looks wkd Cain, I'm really interested in the above, PM me dude I'd like to know more
  14. Here is my to do list board from in the garage It show's the few items I need to do, it doesn't give detail but you can imagine how much work will be involved!!
  15. That's what I'm aiming for buddy Strong as F k, minimal flex in the shell once the cage is in, get the handling as good as it can be
  16. Well here's tonights update To some it might not look like I've done much since last night, however in my defence it time consuming work drilling out spot welds!!! I spent a couple of hours on it and removed all the bracketry apart from the middle and outer parts of the front seat front mounts. Here's a slightly bigger pile of metal, which suprisingly is only 3kgs Here are a few pics of some of the seams I have cleaned up already in preperation for seam welding Unfortunately I'm at work tomorrow so I won't get chance to get on it.
  17. Maybe so, but there's plenty more work to do!! Hopefully be at a point to start seam welding inside shell in a couple of weeks
  18. Would love to come on this, but we're already going to the ring with a crew from work. So the car's gotta be done ;)
  19. Thought now I've got broadband again (yippee!!) I'd give a bit of an update I've now finished my HND and passed so now I can get cracked on I finished removing the sound deadening a couple of weeks ago and now I am removing the seam sealer inside and removing metal as I go. Here are a few pics from tonight as I've started to remove the seat bracketry in preperation of new seat rails being welding in when it goes for a cage Sound deadening removed Front seat rear bracket cut out Front seat bracketry chopped out. Just spot welds to drill out now Removed the rear seat bracketry
