dunno dude, as u know i aint particularly technically minded. spoke with Jay last nite, the turbo is still very much alive it would seem, the shaft play and cracks are the same as when she went in originally, so for now we are goin to continue with the K1 as it pulls like a train. i was hoping it was either the engine or the turbo not both, so right now it looks like my prayers were answered. Right now i am awaiting final verdict from Jay and Secret Steve, but i've a fair idea where this is heading. and so long as the turbo does hold up, it means i can continue to plan for that special final purchase i have started paying for. So, once Jay and Steve have confered and I know the score, I will update accordingly. oh the joys. should have gone honda...........my arse. Phil.

a JAM FCD will do your car no harm as long as its all set up properly dude, checked over with a wideband etc. bear in mind i have been running a Blitz K1 at 0.95 bar with a fuel pressure regulator and a JAM FCD. an ECU is a cleaner and safer way of doing it, but who says an FCD cant be done? I've been doing it for almost a year with no issue. Phil.

''cautionary tale'' (if thats what u want to name it)
Nanglebadger replied to (NAS) starlet ep82's topic in Negative Feedback
dumbest post i have ever read in my 6 years on this site. bar none. spend more than 10 minutes reading this site, reading my build thread or Joz's build thread, an Admin and Super Moderator respectively, and you will know how ABSURD that comment is!!!!! if i were to write a book on the history of Starlets, It would start with "in the beginning there was Jay, and Jay saw that the Starlet was good, and he brought the Starlet into the light". i have also seen these and the packaging for myself, they are FUCKED and there is no physical way Jay could have done this short of crashing one of his own cars, and seeing as all his cars still have their front bumpers intact, it clearly wasn't him! however, he currently has my car...maybe he fitted them to mine, crashed it, took them off, got in his Tardis, went back in time to the beginning of this thread with the coilovers in his hand and POW!!!! mysteriuosly busted coilies from a crash in my car that hasn't happened yet........sorry, but if there's NONSENSE being talked i just thought i'd add some too! totally feeling you man, i started with a custom tank for 6 siamese fighters and ammano shrimp a few months back and on firday i inherited mark's small tropical tank, was straight in cleaning it and doing a stock count, then went out and bought some fish for it and am planning on planting it up with LOADS of shrimp! and yeah thats a shrimp man, a Blood Shrimp to be exact i believe, we've a marine tank too with two blood shrimps, unfortunately we found our last clown daed yesterday tho!!!! they are MEGA addictive, marine's are so colourful but can be difficult to keep, think i'll leave it to my dad and i'll stick with tropicals!!! enjoy man!!! Phil.

from a K1 to a CT9??????? no thanks. and i aint buying no cheap runner if it comes to project halt/pause/end. I want something decent and comfy and nice, like an A3 or an Alfa of some sort. Taking it off the road to maintain as a project would be pointless, for a start i'd have to find reasons to dig it out, then there's twice the insurance, twice the tax, twice the MOT. if i make it a track car i need to warrant it with visits to the track, pay for the track time, pay for trailor, pay for a tow bar, pay for the track lessons at kirky, track insurance, added fuel. it just turns into a whole money pit and for what?? sentiment? i'd have to ask myself is it really worth it. but, until we know more, no sense speculating further. Phil.

Sparky - dont really fancy a £500 rebuild to the K1 tbh dude. false economy that. and if it gets broken at anytime, you can rest assured that the part everyone wants (i.e. the TTE splitter) has already had a home designated by me and will not be for sale. it all comes down to the money. with houses and other commitments that come with age, throwing such money at this kind of incident every 6 months cannot be maintained. Phil.
