funny that, i own a 300bhp starlet, and ive had a blast with a 480bhp TT supra(i'd imagine its pretty comparable to a 500bhp skyline?) and lets just say, i ddint finish second, and to say the supra driver was dissapointed, well, is a bit of an understatement. as ive said tho, there not really comparable, sad as it sounds, i picked my starlet, over an audi RS6, as i decided i wanted to have a car to have fun in for a year.

quite a few people in here who are obviously picking the starlets. but there are a few, who i dont believe have been in a real powerful one and are slating them. i would put my starlet against a 500bhp skyline, and i would bet my car that the skyline wont even start catching me untill well over 100mph, my starlet does 150mph no bother, and lets face it, where is he ever guna be chasing me at over 120-130 mph, there is no point in blasting down a motorway at 150mph. imho, if they havent caught me by then, my car is faster, end of. personally, i would pick a gtr over my car, but i wouldnt pick

yeh very good find, but there are people over 400bhp on standard shafts, with no complaints, so i dont know if these would sell.

i agree the dvla are pish, my new gt is still not in my name, and i sent the logbook away on start of september or summit.

i got one in my mates 205 a couple year back, the next week i was out in the 106, excessive noise, took my car off me, and the same week my mate was reported for driving too fast down town in the 205, and he got that taken off him(he didnt even know it had an asbo against it, so he wasnt very happy haha) cost £140 to get each car back, and none of the reports were made by police officers.

SAFC would work, with a RRFPR and FCD, but would still need it setup somewhere with a wideband lamda, and SAFC is £110 second hand, FCD is 60, RRfpr is 60 or 70, then some1 to set it up,thats £300, and could get an emanage blue, and setup for not much more, or if your lucky, could get a EMU already mapped for that sort of setup, and the map would only need checked and tweaked, or some1 could share there map with you for ease mapping. what size injectors do you have?

get a proper management setup up, like e manage or summit, your already forged, so why skimp now.

i agree wth alot of this, but then some of it i dont. Dan- germany is not a well run country, its ful off immigrants aswell, all beit with german passports, but its full of turks, and now it wants rid of them, as 20 years ago, maybe more, they invited them all in, for work reasons. what is the power that your chasing if you dont mine me asking? you got low comp pistons? there are plenty of scat rods pushing more than 300 bhp with now problem.

i was told admiral dont insure starlets till 21, but i think they insure the gt but not the glanza till 21. strange like.

my mate has been interested in my white gt, and he's been gettin quotes in the region of 4k, hes 17, just passed, hes insuring a corsa C sri the now, and payin the same, to me its unreal, but apparently 17-22 year olds insurance went up nearly 50% this year. one of the few things im glad im gettin older about.

your formula doesnt make sense, well, stroke length has to be in metres, and engine speed is rps aye? i use this. prob same, but longer way round lol. Cm= 0.167 x L x N. Cm mean piston speed L being length of stroke, and N revs. oh and thats in ft/min, but its easily enough converted. so for the 4efte 0.167 x 3.047inch stroke (77.4mm) x 7000(say a 7000rpm, around about the limiter) 3561.9 ft/min in your m/s thats 18.09. and thats the max Mean piston speed within the 4efte, on standard rev limit. so piston speed doesnt come into anything within the 4efte, and rods, with your theory, as i

doesnt the "pistons speed" as youve named it, only increases with rpm, not to do with boost, although yes, higher boost is generally acheived via higher rpm, but wether your at 0.5 bar, or 2 bar, 5000rpm, is the same piston speed on either boost level. the forging process doesnt just give a harder outer coating, its strengtens the whole rod, due to the forging process, where as casting has alot of weak points. answer to your questions, is yes, forged rods are pretty much a must imho, there are more out there than scat aswell.

it doesnt look right to me, i dont think its original, the grill is wrong, and im not sure there was an auto version, but im not sure. still dont look right in bits, colour dont look good, and its pretty cheap for a proper one.

you would want heat range 7's. most of the traders sell them.

the "195" is the width, so you just need to look for summit like a 205, but it depends on the width of your alloy, you will need to have a look into the rim, see the width of the rim.

wat do you mean by fatter? wider tyres? ir a "fatter" sidewall?

how wide are your wheels? will be stamped inside. 7j, or 6.5j? that will determine the tyres you buy.

im assuming it belongs to the guy hes buying the bike off, and if hes got one of them, surprised hes not giving the bike away lol
