Just get an SR or similar in your own name so you can build up your own no claims. Insuring the car in a parents name and you being a named driver and driving it as your own is insurance fronting! Illegal and one of the reasons insurance for young folks is expensive! Insurance companies ain't daft....why would your parents buy a small turbo car and have you as a named driver...hmmm ;)

So some monkey did that to you in broad daylight and you won't go to the police?? I'm afraid i woulda chased him down and rammed the fucker if anyone did that to me! Or of course if behind me then the old reverse into him at speed then claim he rammed you up the arse Or just followed at a subtle distance till he parked up and introduced himand his car to mr steering lock ;)

How long does it take to register an import with the dvla?
paul w replied to DavidAshton's topic in Lifestyle General
Depends on the post and when they sent it off and when they get the docs back and when they go get the plates made up and then fit em and then give you a call to say it's ready....you get the idea Never had a prob when i registered my skyline. 10 days i think it took. -
The systems may not be a direct fit but a good exhaust fitter could get it to fit.

Not if he isn't registered he ain't

This may be more help. You have less rights as a private sale. http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin...DV0003-1011.txt

Does smell like a can of week old tuna to me! Sounds like a buy it cheap, bodge the job and sell it fast to a young keen buyer hoping the damage goes unnoticed.

For a show then... yes a well polished/detailed car should be taken there not a lightly washed one.....but for everyday use i really can't see the point of spending a fortune and time /effort on getting the stuff looking A1 only for a nice wet shitty day to ruin a whole weekends work. I wash my car weekly to keep it in good nick but rarely polish it as the effort is wasted in this country's weather.

I'm just havin a laugh addz! T-CUT is crap I'm not into all this i can polish better than you stuff ;) It's like the old my dads better than your dad crap at primary school. ;) Some very good results in the thread although i have more important things to do with my life than polishing my car all weekend.
-
Just use T-CUT myself if i can be arsed. ;)

I can appreciate the car but the askin prices they comand are stupid! They are old and abused most of the time, a mint example then yeah a decent car should have a decent price but thats evo 4-5 etc sorta money there and i know what i'd rather have for the cash.

so why was it banned?

Talk about taking the piss! I know they are a sought after car but FFS http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-AE86-trueno_W...id=p3286.c0.m14

We have all been there and got stung mate. Sometimes it takes a mistake like this to make you think before buying anything on someone elses recomendation or reputation. Take a step back next time and look at everything and use your head not heart when buying cars...TRUST NO-ONE WHO IS SELLING ANYTHING!!!!!!! Make your own mind up instead. Never buy a car in the rain/dark, poor light or from pictures alone. I doubt you've got a leg to stand on askin for it to be repaired or cash back as you've driven it home so you could've done the damage and be trying to chance your luck gettin things done

The gaps at the front of that car are very obvious mate! How did you miss them?????? Thats had a fair shunt at some stage in it's life. Fix it and sell it or fix and keep, but tbh i would not be happy with myself for buying it in that condition.
