LOL everyone says that...they aren't HIDs mate! They're those illegal blue bulbs from Halfrauds theyre pretty much as bright and the same colour as HIDs everyone thinks they are! Er what was that? Looking at the screen and its done an almost perfect straight line crack from pillar to pillar! Bastard! So thats put a few plans on hold for this month, gotta pay for that but also got my new plates today so will fit them when the weather gets better! Here's a snow pic for you

Cheers bud I pinched the idea from when yours had black wheels, combined with no strips I thought yours looked mint! Was tempted to do a green strip round the edge of the rim but probably wont bother tbh, too much effort lol! Loving the red theme on yours pal!

UPDATE TIME Started going along with my theme of black and white...and began spraying my wheels! Only done two so far - the car is used daily pretty much without fail as I work weekends too, and I aint got axle stands so only got one side done at the start of the week, should have the other two done tomoro! But anyways, pretty happy with the finish, nice and glossy and looks smart too. Here's a few pics throughout spraying. Also put some sexy Tein stickers on the side underneath the rear quarter bump strip and painted my wheel nuts green now too. Its very close to Takata green so I'm pretty happy with it! Also sprayed the internals of my indicators and has tidied up the front end loads! Plans for next month are a new exhaust system, possibly tints all round (undecided between all round light or just get the back three done), maybe de-wiper the back end, some new plates that have the digits on two bloody lines and wind deflectors! Watch this space Apologies for how dirty Sidney is in these pics! She's all clean and spangly now so will get some more pics tomorrow

Right bear with me, I gotta copy this off another forum so might be a bit patchy and hard to understand at first! I picked it up at the start of Sept 09 for a good price (almost as cheap as LukeSR paid!) So here's some pics of when I first got it... straight away I ordered clear indicators front and sides (these took an age to come!) and set about a few subtle stickers and trying to source a backbox - as standard they have a nice big TTE backbox about 3 or 4" in diameter! But for some reason mine had been replaced with some gay ass pea shooter! The first proper mod I made was a simple but effective one - I fitted the Laguna splitter I took off my old Civic I then sorted out the sound system - Vibe CBR 12" from the Civic, and ordered some JBL 4" front speakers (£45 shit hot matey!) and some Vibe SEKs for the rear parcel shelf speakers (£55). I personally think the sound quality is awsome now, crystal clear with a ton of bass too...happy days! Then the Advan stickers and clear repeaters came, plus a Tein spark plug man for the fuel cap! I then sorted out the backbox with a second hand Powerflow one from Kaaaty (which has now broken, was a poo fit anyway so will soon be sorting a new system out!). Least I've got her sounding how she should! Also, tried a black bonnet but it looked a bit gash so I took it off again Oooh Snap! Square plates and orange wheel nuts came next, along with some de-badging and de-stripping of the doors. The glue is a total whore to take off!! I ended up using a razor blade for the passenger side and it took about a quarter of the time, just have to watch you dont chip away the paint I don't like the plates as whoever the chimp was who made them decided to put all the digits on one line...PENIS! Will be ordering some proper ones asap. A few more pics...had a boo boo! Whilst dicking about with my mate Yosh, trying to show him how easily it goes sideways, Sidney turned round and bit my head off!! Instead of drifty drifty we had a bit of kerby kerby, understeering madness! Tried to save it but was too late and smacked into the high kerbs that are under the train bridge by the tip in Leamington Not the end of the world, gives her some battle scars to proudly wear! And this is what Sidney did to my brand new Kumhos after 6 weeks on the car!! So to finish off for now, here's the pics of it finally de-stripped! And also a couple of dirty dirty pics thrown in for good measure! Let me know your thoughts and ideas for the wagonnn!

I never took the bumper off, I just jacked it up and lay on a mat on the floor Think I used about 8 or 10 screws just space them out so you don't have to worry about it falling off. First time I fitted one on my old Civic I used a hacksaw to trim the edges but I find a good stanley knife cuts through it like butter and bolt straight with no rough edges

This sounds identical to my SR, can you feel the grinding through the wheel? Mine is weird it comes and goes...still don't know whats wrong and its been going on for about a month now ;)

Just a quick one, did a search but didnt find anything... Anyone know what diameter the exhaust pipework predominantly is on a N/A EP91? Mine is an SR by the way, just in case theres a difference between that and a normal 1.3 N/A - but I very much doubt there is

Hmm... it got worse and worse, to the point where I was like SHIT this is gonna go, driving at like 20mph was about to turn round to head home, turned into quite a tight roundabout and the steering fully locked round to the right!! I wrenched it back straight with a lot of force and suddenly snapped back into place and i drove up the road really really cautiously. It seemed as if the clicking and grinding had gone, so I parked the car up, went into the bar I was meeting some mates at, came back out to it and drove it round for a bit absolutely problem free?! Since it did this last night its been absolutely fine, took it easy all night last night, gave it a bit of stick on the way to work this morning and it all seems back to normal again?! weird.com!

Got a little issue thats arisen on my 1998 SR, bit worried about how serious it may be Basically when at low speeds (upto around 20-30mph) when turning tight theres a slight clicking noise coming from what sounds like just behind the dash, and also you can just feel a slight bit of friction at the same time when turning? Its only on real tight turns like small roundabouts, you hear it click it will usually click like 3 or 4 times progressively through the turn and then clicks the same amount of times as you straighten up again. Any suggestions on what it could be? Steering box or track rods or something maybe?? Is this a common fault on SRs? Any help will be much appreciated

I've spun my SR a few times, in the first week I had it just learning the levels of grip in the wet on a roundabout. I'm pretty confident I've found the limits on it now like evryone said especially going into winter you need to know the limits of the car or it will bite you one day! And more importantly coming into winter - everyone needs just slow down a bit, drive at like 50%, maybe less on really cold days just to be on the safe side. I should know, got lift-off in my first car (206 1.1) on December 26th at 3 in the morning! Was not amusing rolling five times into a field. Needless to say that was a write-off! ;)

Woah! I knew it'd end up being like this lol! It was only a suggestion, I thought it'd be a cool idea if it was do-able for not much money, but I guess it appears not to be. Agreed the Civic chassis is a lot better than the Starlet but like people have said it can still be made better with the right mods? All I thought was to be different, I don't really wanna go down the whole FTE route, everybody does it so why be a sheep and follow. I was just trying to think of a "cheap" conversion thats completely different and new - because you can get a B16a, box, shafts and all the looms for about £600 so I figured it wouldn't be massively overpriced if there wasn't too much work to fit it. I mean I've seen B16s fitted into Minis so surely one would go into a Starlet with some work!? I'm not trying to get an argument going, and I weren't being stupid by suggesting it as an idea as I did guess it wouldn't be an easy conversion. But surely some of you can see my thinking? A B16 with a few mods would be a great little engine for the Starlet! Just a shame its not really a viable option. And as someone has mentioned, could you please tell me what is wrong with Honda engines and they're reliability?!

I'm addicted to VTEC!! I had an EK Civic before it wasn't a B16 it was a D15Z6 but my mates B lump in his EG Civic is unreal for what it is! I just thought it'd be original, hardly done, and spastic fast for a N/A lump, but still with impeccable reliabilty - as lets face it a lightly tuned B16 is still gonna be reliable. Plus it'll have that what the fuck factor - can you imagine it, a Starlet with VTEC? It'd be mint! ;)
