  1. lol It's using them when going "fast" down hills that tends to make me grin the most!
  2. Ouch!!! Sanchez - your PM inbox is full.....
  3. So have you had a chance to lean on them a bit yet?
  4. Very nice straight looking one that - should be sweeet with a few tweaks... Unless I've very much mistaken you have a set of BMW E30 14" "bottlecaps"?
  5. (FFS! ) send me your address by PM and I'll print some out and post them to you! I'm not cutting them out in detail though, get your scissors out! I've been tidying up and have split the info between the two "fits" (54mm and 55mm), updated prices/specs are here: WMS Brakes For 54mm Hub Starlets (>92 Turbo (EP82) etc) & WMS Brakes For 55mm Hub Starlets ('92-'96 Turbo (EP82), '96> Turbo (EP92) etc) Also I've done thunbnails of all the photos to save scrolling!
  6. Cool! I'm supposed to be off to the Nurberbring in Aug (family holiday roadtrip: UK>France>Italy>Stelvio Pass>'Ring>UK, no crashes!) and need to get some practice somewhere there are gravel traps first methinks...that's the plan for the summer.
  7. So have you ever taken it on a trackday? I need to get my car fixed (well, "built") then fancy tagging on to an 'astinz > Brands convoy (me and my 'lil bro's) as you're just up the road? It would make a classic mix of cars, we'd have a 3.5l (5 series engine) E30 BMW Touring, a gutted 205 Rally with a Saxo VTS 16v lump, my MR2 AW11 with it's 1.8 7A-GE mongrel engine, plus anyone else who's game! We'll all get to see if I drop it on Paddock Hill like most MR2's tend to, engine in the back and all that!
  8. We have developed these other WMS 4 pot kits for non-Toyotas - handy for the runabout / mate's car etc (ones in BOLD are more often in stock): 280mm BMW E30 (not M3) 300mm BMW E30 (not M3) 280mm BMW Z1 Spider 300mm BMW Z1 Spider E36 and and E30 M3 coming soon. 284mm Fiat Uno Turbo 284mm Fiat Punto Turbo 300mm Fiat Coupe 16v Turbo (not 20vT, might fit the others though?) 284mm Fiat 124 284mm Fiat 127 284mm Fiat 128 284mm Fiat 131 284mm Fiat Cinquecento Sporting! 300mm Renault Alpine Turbo Front, Rear, Handbrake! 262mm TVR Tasmin / 350i / 400SE etc 283mm TVR Chimaera 323mm TVR Chimaera 283mm TVR Griffith 284mm Alfa Romeo 145 284mm Alfa Romeo 146 245mm Ford Mk1/2 Escort inc RS1800, S2000, Mexico 283mm Ford Mk3/4 Escort inc RS Turbo 245mm Ford Capri 245mm Ford Cortina 262mm Ford Granada 283mm Ford Sierra (not Cosworth) 283mm Ford Sierra Cosworth 2WD 300mm Ford Sierra Cosworth 2WD 310mm Ford Sierra Cosworth 2WD 323mm Ford Sierra Cosworth 2WD 245mm Westfield Seven / SEW 245mm Fisher Fury 245mm Caterham Seven 284mm Lancia Delta HF Turbo Peugeot 205Gti (1.9 and 1.6) various, TBC Citreon Saxo various, TBC Other odd ones including Triumph TR6, TR7, Spitfire, MGB. 9. We have developed these other WMS / Toyota 4 pot kits: Gen 5 Celica ST185 etc front Gen 6 Celica AT200, ST202 etc front (not ST205 superstrut) Gen 7 Celica ZZT231 etc front AE82 Corolla front AE92 Corolla front AE101 Corolla front Mk1 MR2 AW11 front Mk2 MR2 SW20 front (awaiting first batch / launch) Mk3 MR2 ZZW30 front (awaiting first batch / launch) MR2 Mk1,2,3 rear kits are all in development.
  10. There are now three WMS 4 pot brake kits to fit Starlets with 54mm hubs (ie 54mm disc "bore"). The kits fit with the heat shield only needing bending and trimming slightly and are great for cheap pads / discs in the future (see prices), and will fit under 15's (see profile .PDF files, the idea is you print them, check the scale is 1:1 then stick the printout to card, cut it out and try it inside your wheels before buying! ). The 275x22 and 295x26 kits both take more machining to fit the 54mm hubs (the same kits for the 55mm hubs are cheaper!), where as the 277x25mm kit takes LESS machining for 54mm hubs than for 55mm hubs meaning it's financially more sensible - but we have included the other two as they are available if required. The price difference is mainly in the discs. Specs are: - 6061 T6 Aluminium calipers, CNC machined from billet and hard anodised, stainless pistons (1.38"/1.38"). - 6082 T6 clear anodised brackets, with VERY strong 431/303 stainless steel threaded inserts, "solid" type not "helicoil" type (this system is strong enough that we found during testing that an M10 grade 12.9 bolt will actually stretch before the inset fails!). - Grade 12.9 cap head bolts KIT (includes calipers/brackets+inserts/bolts etc/discs): KITS (each includes calipers/brackets+inserts/bolts etc/discs): 4P166-S - Normal 275x22 size kit with best wheel clearance (printable clearance test profile: 275x22 kit PDF ) = £520.00+vat 4P151-S - Heavy duty 277x25 size kit with more thermal mass (printable clearance test profile: 277x25 kit PDF ) = £510.00+vat 4P167-S - Biggest 295x26 size kit (printable clearance test profile: 295x26 kit PDF ) = £590.00+vat .......smaller 260x25 kit is also possible, please contact me if of interest. PLEASE NOTE - Due to the deep disc we use on the large 4P167-S kit, it actually gives you 2.5mm MORE OFFSET CLEARANCE than the smaller 4P151-S kit! So try the templates, don't assume the bigger kit won't fit your wheels...... OPTIONS: - Grooved discs are offered as a service, and add £40.00+vat/pr. - For £POA+vat we can upgrade the 277x25 disc to the EBC Turbogroove type as another option. - EBC Reds are £POA+vat/set - EBC Yellows are £POA+vat/set - Ferodo DS2500 (fast road) = £62.00+vat/set - Ferodo DS3000 (race) = £63.00+vat/set - Earls braided lines (to fit WMS caliper threads) are £51.00vat/pr SPARES: - Replacement 275x22mm discs are £88.00+vat/pr - Replacement 277x25mm discs are £77.00+vat/pr - Replacement 295x26mm discs are £144.00+vat/pr Here are the photos of the 277x25mm 4P151 kit: In addition if you can't fit this under your wheels there is a proposed "smallest possible" 262.5mm kit to try and fit some 14" wheels, here's the profile, accurate to about 1.0mm: 262.5mm kit PDF

  12. - I'd love to try this but I don't bounce as well as I used to...
  13. Will do! I've just been updating photos (including my post above) to show the production brackets and which way to fit them... Phil, get some photos of the car up old chap - it looked pretty cool to me and it's not like you just bought it now is it!
  14. Don't you worry, I will do! Everyone should note though, the bell+rotors will be retro-fit-able....so for instance if Phil fancied a set in the future I could supply the parts needed (rotors/bells/fixings/caliper-width spacers and maybe caliper bolts) but the calipers/brackets/mounting bolts/lines/pads etc are all retained! Helps spread the cost, no need to jump right in at the deep end....
  15. An engine always helps!
  16. Great guide to fitting Phil - they look spot on under those rims! For reference the bolt torque settings for people playing with WMS kits are: "hand tight" on the brake line > caliper fitting, it's a 1/8NPT TAPERED thread and will "lock and seal" easily but feel ODD! Don't overtighten... 30ftlb DRY on the 3/8UNC caliper joining bolts. 40ftlb DRY on the M10 caliper > bracket bolts. 65ftlb DRY on the M12 bracket > strut bolts (or 60ftlb DRY on the "beta" brackets). Here's how the brackets should be fitted: And here's how you can trim (plus a bit of tapping!) the heat shield to retain it: Follow the bedding-in instructions in the EBC box, then put some miles on them to ensure all the "brake-in compound" is gone, then give them hell! ;)
  17. Very easy to arrange?! ;)
  18. I'll have a look later on - there are at least two different front pad shapes on the Starlet so I want to be sure I've got the right bits!
  19. Seconded!
  20. I would recommend Reds and plain discs if you're sticking to standard calipers - not 100% sure about EBC and the rear pad availability at the moment though. Or go the whole hog (these need a new loving home, got them in yesterday!):
  21. GT4 running gear in a Starlet. Get the grinder out! OR GT4 running gear, plus a 3L 24v Toyota Camry V6 (yes it bolts up to the 3SGTE gearboxes) and twin turbos or the TRD SC kit....in an SR replica sleeper! Get it on steels! (#Cough, big enough steels for decent brakes of course...)
  22. Keri-WMS

    Brakes?

I more or less agree, plain discs are the way to go.....but I would go for Red (or Yellow if you're hard on the brakes) EBC pads though..... (Assuming you want to keep standard size discs and calipers of course...?)
  23. Time for an update! - I have FINALLY got more of the 275x22mm 55mm bore discs! 3pr to be exact. (277x25mm discs are easier to get, I have them as well) - The production brackets are back from the anodisers, so the kits will be available NOW! - I have sorted out a version of the 277x25mm kit with a 54mm bore, this fits the early EP82 (prices, part number etc TBC but the 4P109 PDF works for wheel clearance testing purposes)! The kits will not be in stock for long I don't expect, so I'll need to let them go on a first-come-first-served basis - drop me a PM if you want to reserve a set. Here they are, these kits need to find new owners!
  24. Yeah, possibly pushing his luck a bit given it wasn't his car and he wasn't used to it at all! I suspect a quick-rack might be in order as well..? I don't know the guy driving, just the owner (passenger!)!
