  1. Hi Phil, same here - cool car as well! Glad you like the WMS goodies... PS - Don't worry, I didn't hear it stall when you left...and even if I did I wouldn't tell anyone! Sounds like you've got a beast of a clutch on it? Hmmmm...so not very thin at all in fact!
  2. Hi Erik, glad you like them, especially after the delay! 25mm eh? What's an extra inch between friends!!! Are they funny thin alloys?
  3. Possibly! I would give it a good scrub with Scotchbright to get more of a satin/brushed finish, seems to be what most ported heads have. There are two safe things you can do with a modern engine to improve things: A - 3 angle valve seats (and back-cut valves) to try to reproduce a radius...think rolled inlet trumpets, same idea. B - Remove any lumps and bumps in the casting that shouldn't be there, and smooth any edges caused by the factory valve-seat milling etc. Making the ports bigger, polishing, changing the shape of the ports etc all come under "more harm than good without a flow bench
  4. It's supposed to be true - a shiney surface has two downsides, it messes up the formation of the "boundary layer" in the air, a thin layer of tiny spinning vortices that are to airflow what marbles on the floor are to us! Also a shiny surfaces attracts fuel condensation, think about what steam does on glass and gloss paint vs matt paint. Sorry about the daft analogies!!!
  5. Reminds me of this: A young man walks over to his father one day and asks if they could have a talk about sex. His father agrees and is eager to help his son with any questions he may have. "Dad, what does a vagina look like before sex?" asked the son. "Well son," answered the all knowing father. "A vagina is the most beautiful thing in creation." "The soft folds of a vagina are softer even than the petals of a rose." "The delicate scent of a vagina is finer than the finest french perfumes." "The taste of a vagina, is sweeter than the purest nectar." "All in all son, it`s like I s
  6. What, "must remember to watch Luke's ex in the bath" you mean? Surely that'll get you into trouble.....?
  7. We have added Ferodo pads to the list of options we can supply! Ferodo DS2500 (fast road) = £47.20+vat/set Ferodo DS3000 (race) = £50.40+vat/set Here is the 277x25 kit! Big fat disc for those who want it...
  8. I've never heard of anything like that! Where did you get it from? No problem chap - let me know when you're back on track...
  9. Imagine a Sweeny Todd style cut-throat razor job....argh! I have to watch out anyway, Mr NHS Scalpel went through a nerve so I can't feel a cut in one stamp size area so I could slash it and not realise. A bit like leprosy of the scrot!
  10. No problem, hope they can help you! Best ring them, looks like their email is down. As for payment, bank transfer is ideal, then PayPal, then cash on collection in your case as you're sort-of just down the road...
  11. Bummer about the crack - I would get in touch with these guys in Hastings, I bet they can weld/smooth it like it never happened.. www.hastingsmotorsheetmetalworks.com ...they make sports car bodies from scratch, hammers and aluminium sheet type skills! Also do alloy wheel repairs including welding up missing chunks. I'm just working out a price for the 277x25 beta kit and will be able to deliver one in about a week (as you're local and desperately lacking brake pads?)? Let me know... In fact as a general heads-up, I will take orders now for the 277x25 beta kit as I have three in total avail
  12. PMSL!!!! I found out once that the NHS use superglue to stick one's c###k out of the way to to it. Took me ages to work out why I had a patch of glue on my belly, 'course it was about #cough#....er... 12" ....or something above my beltline..... In case you're wondering "why", look up testicular torsion, apparently if I hadn't gone into A&E when I did they would have needed to lop one off (technically they should have by their testing rules but the surgion was a bloke and gave it more time to recover than they are supposed to, brings new meaning to the term "black balled" so I was told)
  13. Hiya - the calipers are here (arrived yesterday), I've just got to get a batch of brackets done now which is much faster, a few weeks will see everything on the shelf if there are no glitches! The price will be very similar for both versions though, maybe 5-10% more for the thicker disc at the outside (only because it has more machining than the 22mm one). In the meantime I can still offer kits but with the "beta" brackets, not quite as pretty as the productions brackets will be (the ones in the photos are "beta") but the same dimensions, shall I work you out a price? Lead time on "beta" ki
  14. Sweet! Don't forget to see if we can do away with the 45' fittings at the chassis end of the lines, they're there to tweak the angle of the lines away from the wheels but there might not be a need.
  15. That's the thing about them - the back steps out and you can go decide "meh" and leave it there for a while, or flick it the other way, they just go where you point the steering (as much as a RWD car will anyway). Thing is, they have a solid beam rear axle....so it makes no sense that they are so good...but I realised recently that another well know car has the same basic rear setup (before fettling) and thought "hmmmmm": the AE86! How about a 900cc Escort?
  16. Speaking of maniacs, here are the two that make me want to go out and thrash my car the most: This is why I want to finish my Mk1 Escort...one day.... (the guy is an animal which helps) BMW powered, very very very fast.
  17. Not youtube, but as we're taking videos this one just nearly killed me! http://www.break.com/index/office-worker-g...ely-insane.html
  18. I noticed the other day that the Mk3 MR2 15" is HEAPS lighter than the SR's 15" Speedline... Just thought I'd share, for the race guys mainly! So lets get some info up here, remind me when it's daylight and I'll get the ones I've got on the scales.
  19. Ah, that would make sense as they are one lump, inc hub and bearing - annoying though! -------------- I'd just like to publicly apologise to my customer in Norway who's kit (2nd of the two beta ones) I've only just managed to ship. My normal disc supplier discontinued the 275x22 disc with no warning (still working on that), then all the snow and ice etc meant several other suppliers were closed for ages, but the UK seems to be back on track now. So, sorry about that and I hope the 277x25 heavy-duty upgrade helps make up for it - the UK needs to learn about dealing with snow from Norway!
  20. Oh c##k, could a mod move this to off-topic please? (doh!!!)
  21. I've been explaining to a customer in Norway how the UK has ground to a halt thanks to the snow (delaying his order as I can't get anything delivered to me it seems), but it's pathetic really. Here are some roads in Norway (in the mountains but even so), I think we need a slap.....
