Charlie28's 295.3BHP@1.4Bar Forged Greddy Turbo'd Glanza

So I've been having water temp issues, gauge on dash was providing an incorrect reading and the car was running awful! I though the problem lay in the thermostat originally but after replacing and testing the old one it that worked perfectly. That just left the water temperature sensor which I had purchased new off the net! I think the person I purchased the sensor off provided me with one from a Subaru, anyway it didn't seem to like it! So got a second hand sensor off socks and that solved the problem! Got out in the car today! Small oil leak from the cam cover to sort out and that's about -
Ah not far from me then! I saw the car in bedford when the bloke had just imported it!
-
Did you buy this from Bedford way?
-
So I'm having a temp issue, when I start the car the temperature gauge shoots up to half way and then increases to near max when then the car has only been running for a couple of mins. The sensor on my 98 spec glanza is a 3 pin so the temp gauge is combined with the ecu temp sensors. I've replaced the thermostat, both sensors and the engine has a new water pump fitted. Only thing I can think of is a possible radiator blockage? I'm using a second hand civic half rad but did flush it through before fitting and it didn't seem to have any issues! Any idea's?

New thermostat turned up today so got it fitted quickly this evening! Pic of the old one below! Stuck shut so that should explain the temp issue! I'll start her up Saturday just to double check -
I'll keep my eye on this because i also need to plug my Innovate gauge in to set Oil pressure warning limit
-
I had good fresh new fluid coming out of all corners with no air bubbles. I'll give it another shot this weekend.
-
I have RX7 injectors, direct fit
-
I started with the right rear (if looking at the car front on) then moved over to the left hand side, but i had trouble getting any fluid out from there so I then bled the front and went back to the right rear and over to the left again which seemed to solve that problem. But the pedal was just on the floor once i'd worked my way round the car (furthest away from the master cylinder first)
-
I didn't replace the gasket bud no, it was abit shagged too! But that wouldn't allow air into the braking system would it?
-
I done this at the weekend bud. Done all 4 corners and got fresh fluid coming through with no air but the peddle just went straight to the floor.
-
Removed the master cylinder after cross threading it when installing my abs removal kit from TD. I've replaced the master cylinder and everything is connected up. Should i have bled the master cylinder first before fitting? Or will bleeding the brakes normally remove any air trapped in the system?

Well once the temp issue is sorted i just need to bleed the brakes and get the car out of the road to run the engine in and get an MOT! Then mapping! Decided to just leave it in for now bud, something i can do in the summer -

Few bits done over the weekend! So glad the weather is starting to get better! Beats being outside with numb hands! Gauge and sensors fitted Got a temperature issue at the moment, which I hope will be resolved with a new thermostat! Fingers crossed! Also sorted a brake leak on the abs removal kit I've installed. -
But that will mean there's no used sensor after the thermostat? (Where the green sensor is)??
-
Need some help on my thermostat housing and sensors! Engine is out of a EP82 and I've fitted EP91 sensors, but when I start the car within a few mins the gauge in the instrument cluster shoots right up to red. On the EP82 engine I'm sure the sensors are the other way round (fan switch where the temp sensor is) - would this make any difference? Any idea's?

Fitting oil pressure/temp gauges without sandwich plate!
Charlie28 replied to Sefton-EP91's topic in Electronics
Just to hijack this thread slightly, where is the best place to take a 12v power supply for the gauge? as on my oil temp/pressure gauge it says to not to splice into the head unit wiring?
