A cutting compound would have more affect yea, if you haven't got any I think toothpaste may actually help as it's similar to cutting compound, if you can get some use compound if not try what you have laying around first. I take it you have no tcut or anything?

Use the search function you'll find shit loads about td04'ing. Afaik plug and plays can fuel them but it's kinda hit and miss, if your going to try it get it health checked

You could try something like petrol, and scrub them, also maybe fine rub down and relaquer. It can be a bastard to remove but it can be done
