I have a fse sytec and sard, the sard seems to be more concistent but both work fine, fse/sytec are known to lose pressure over time making starting your car a few more cranks than usual.

You can run 1bar without a aftermarket ECU yoi'll need an adjustable fuel reg it's not the best way to do it but if you have it set up properly it'll do the trick. Emanage blues can be picked up cheap just fitting if you cant do it yourself and mapping that will cost a bit.

They aren't all that bad. They are good bang for buck, make sure cambelts done that costs a lot I've had a fair few Clios and they aren't as bad as people make out, my mates 172 never ate gearboxes themselves some how he kept fucking the diff circlip, on seperate boxes. It's notable that he doesn't give his cars an easy time though.

Possibly sticky starter solenoid, tap the solenoid with a hammer when it won't engage and see if it sorts it
