I've been told when earning a low-ish wage, your not liable to pay tax does anyone know how much this is that you can earn before paying tax? and also how you go about reclaiming it? Thanks in advance, ps. I have tried google and have seen mixed answers and gov websites not massively clear.

I'd block test it for a start, if inconclusive check that pump. How did you bleed it? -
You can force them in and tighten them up it'll never be perfect but will hold up well. I've had two glanza none of which have had them left in. I've seen another which was a stock car basically, and that had them.

overheating issue after rebuild (videos added)

There was a few issues with Athenas a while back but I think that was the oil ways being partially covered by the gasket. Perhaps the head hasn't sealed, what headbolts did you use? -
yeah, it can cause you major issues. College favriote engine rebuilds and everyone starts switching parts about, engine goes back together but wont fully crank. Back apart it comes lol. Ahh I miss the good old laughs we had at college

athena steel head gasket re-usable?
TurboTobz replied to EPnick22's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
You could quiet happily use it until it begins to fail -
Sounds like you have been conned although I sent a set of pauter Ross and wiseco pistons (all forged) to a forum member on the 19th of July, he messages me yesterday asking if I'd had time to post them (he said no rush to me sending them but I sent them ASAP instead) luckily I kept the receipt but £25 to send them to Ireland and they have somehow dissapeared. It could be a courier error in your case, although doubtfully.

Off the too of my head $850 area that's USD. A little on the expensive side, but if you factor in the money you'll be saving on not having your block machined it's not so bad. They are a tad more superior that the rest of the common 4efte rods

athena steel head gasket re-usable?
TurboTobz replied to EPnick22's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Headgaskets can be reused, not ideal. But clean it up put smear some wellseal over it and just be gentle. I done an engine for my old man, we had it apart numerous times (3 iirc) reused it everytime, and was only a shitty eBay job on a k series rover engine (the ones that eat head gaskets) and its still going to this day never shown any sign of going either. Some one off here brought a used Athena 1.2 from me to reuse. -
Get onto pauter you won't regret it.

Usually safe to release it, and it will depressurise itself but I would Definately reccomend a towel wrapped up to cover anything it may chuck out. If there getting hard I'd expect it may want to gush out water. In which case you maybe looking at a headgasket failure or similar -

Any pressure in that rad? Top or bottom hose getting hard? Hissing when undoing cap? Spitting any coolant? -

Generally speaking you won't get hot air if it's thermostat. Did you check the If it's pressurising the system? Take the rad cap off and rev the car does the coolant level rise as the revs get higher? -
