My loom was fine it never wore down and I always had my mrs in the car with me, its a shorter route and looks to be a mile safer than being near anything else

The one I rotated had one removable pin the other was fixed iirc and filed it down nicely

Yeah, there's a bung there make a slice in it pull it through it keeps things tidier and it's less wires exposed to heat and moving objects around your bay that could potentially cause damage to that expensive wiring loom.

Behind gearbox mounted slightly above 90 degrees 36" down, pointing toward passengers side, there's a perfect spot make sure you get it right the sensors are expensive, wires up through grommet under passengers carpet, though behind dash.
