First Japfest I've been to and it was awesome. Our track sessions were poor (cousin drove in the morning) as I'm sure you all saw it's the first time I actually tried to go around a corner fast in the Glanza and it just wasn't happening. There's way too much play in the steering wheel and the car basically wasn't going in the direction I wanted it to! I won't be going on with 16s again, or without an oil cooler as mine reached 120 degrees very quickly. I've got a good quality video but it just shows me going around on the right side of the lane very very slowly, I'll get it up anyway! Ps. It was awesome to meet all those I met and if I didn't meet you this time then definitely next time!

Sound Gaz I'll see you there

Cheers guys. I've been working to the max on the car to have it ready for tomorrow but I must warn you it will be looking a bit messy unfortunately. Really haven't managed to have it as good as I wanted it, but hey ho I'm not bummy like that - I'd bring it with rust all over it as long as it drove. Bad news is that the car rolled in to a bollard today, was rolling it out of the garage and couldn't dive in quick enough to get the hand brake. So the read bumper has a big chip in it, quite glad its not plastic as it hasn't warped. The sideskirt has cracked on one wide from the wheels being too wide and the car being too low - therefore the wheel just bounced really hard and cracked the skirt badly. And there is a massive paint chip on the otherwise due to being too low too. Still need to fit one sideskirt and the spoiler tonight, I had the alarm fitted by an electrician today and the power steering is back in and feels ace. CV boot has also been replaced so the next jobs for tonight are: Complete wiring for oil gauges Rewire the fan Fit spoiler and sideskirt Fit mission interior plastics Calibrate speedo and fuel needle Fit boost solenoid as I removed it when there was a boosting problem So yeah, hope to see y'all tomorrow. And I'll probably be looking like a tramp too.

Thanks folks! Soooo much to do before Japfest, will focus on the mechanical side of things before fitting the spoiler and cleaning the car! Actually not sure how much I'll manage to do as I'll be at it alone. Might have to do an all nighter tonight
-
Good stuff, you really need to clean your engine bay up now!
-
Thats why I haven't entered it! Guess who has track tickets for Japfest
-
Don't worry Lew, it was actually resting against the tyre! I still want to go on track as I'll probably be too lazy to attend Japfest otherwise! A track session will motivate me to make an appearance.
-
I can't get hold of any track tickets so there will be no JF2 track session for me! Alarm arrived today, Clifford G5 concept Civic radiator and fan also arrived, thanks Addz Shaq rattle can'd the bonnet while I was busy getting the power steering back in It's a temporary job until we paint it yellow but I'm loving how it looks so I might just leave it like this for a few weeks Radiator and power steering fitted The radiator isn't held on securely so I'll need to fabricate some brackets for that tomorrow. Also need a belt for the PS pump and hopefully it will be working.
-
That's the only reason I want to go tbh, not really in to car 'shows' tbh Spoilers painted, thanks to Shaq again
-
Cheers Lewis, I've decided to go regardless of what state the cars in just as long as it runs well! I need a track ticket though
-
That's what I did last night Rory and is sorted, I knew those bottom 2 shouldn't have been open lesson learnt! Cheers guys!

Looks amazing, nice purchase!!

Cheers guys, Ben I'd have tried Ultra ones but the laws are changing at the end of the year and they'll then be illegal, so it wouldn't be money wisely spent! Liam, I'll probably come if I get the car tidied up as it looks a bit shit right now. The bonnet needs painting, the car needs a flat and polish and the spoiler needs fitting - those are the main things anyway. Phil cheers bro means a lot! Now covered 430 miles and boosting at 0.64 bar, safe to say it feels fairly awesome. The TD05 spools nicely on the 5E so there's no issue with lag, pulls well to 7300rpm too. Jobs for tomorrow: Another oil change to semi synthetic (may drop the sump to have a peak too) Fit power steering Check over all the bolts/nuts underneath the car just for peace of mind Wire up gauges Tidy some wiring Fit missing interiors panels Ask my mate nicely to fit the alarm if it arrives by tomorrow! Ciao for now!

Another thing I've noticed is there's 4 threaded holes on the bottom side of the wastegate, 2 are the top ones as pictured but the bottom 2 near the screamer are left open as I wasnt supplied any blanking plugs. Do they need to be blocked off? Looks as if they should be blocked.
-
I've removed the wastegate and it only fits one way, so the flanges are welded wrong on the manifold and screamer if it's the wrong way, and that's quite unlikely! Just to confirm: Manifold side: Screamer side:
-
Can you tell if it's fitted wrong by looking at these pictures?
-
Just tried that. No difference at all. Can't hear the screamer pipe at all when it boosts either.
-
Sparly that's exactly how I had mine set before and it was still over boosting even with the boost set to minimum on the AVCR. So I tried to without the EMB but still the same! Dean which nipple should be vented to atmosphere then, any idea?
-
Cheers guys! I want to start giving it some boost now but it keeps over boosting. Tried to run the wastegate in every different way, with different springs pressures too but nothing is helping.
-
I've tried all sorts with the vac lines but nothing is curing the over boosting. I've tried both springs that were originally inside the wastegate individually but still too much boost. I've found that this is the way I should be set up to run off the wastegate spring pressure, which is 0.7 bad according to Tials website, I've used the thinner soft spring now but it still reaches 1 bar of boost. Opened up the wastegate and that seems to be opening and closing properly too, have I done something wrong here?! Also the vac lines are not leaking as I've checked it. I've tried to vent either top ones to atmosphere too but still no help Straight to the compressor housing

Cheers guys, the HIDs are blinding other drivers and I can feel their frustration, so they're going! A few jobs done: Boost controller fully fitted Oil sandwich plate purchased and fitted New water pump/alternator belt fitted New head unit fitted and wiring tidied Magnecore HT leads purchased and fitted TPS adjusted so now runs and idles perfectly Spoiler half painted (primed and groundcoated) - thanks to my cousin Shaq who did this while me and my mate Usman did the other bits Civic radiator purchased Clifford G5 concept alarm system purchased Radiator and alarm should be here and fitted by the end of the week, all being well. Old New Sandwich plate fitted and gauge sensors fitted, oil and filter changed at the same time Some random shots She's now covered 360 miles, will be changing the oil to synthetic once she hits 500 miles. Missions interior panels also arrived today so they'll be fitted shortly.
-
I take it we'll get them on the day instead of them being posted out then?
-
Stand pass, I didn't purchase any track time.

What pistons and rods? The stock ones need pressing out. Aftermarket ones have clips holding them on either side of the gudgeon pin.
