  1. Just to let you know Steve, my ticket hasn't arrived yet?
  2. Beautiful example, well deserved too. Best of luck with it mate!
  3. Cheers guys, at first I thought it looks okay without a spoiler but now I think it looks quite ugly without it Here's what's still left to do (the main bits): Wire in boost controller Refit power steering Fit Civic radiator when it arrives Remove HID kit and replace with Philips Xtreme Power bulbs Buy and fit an oil sandwich plate Connect gauges Fit a new head unit Calibrate speedo & water temp needles Adjust TPS Paint bonnet and spoiler Flat and polish car Fit missing interior trims Buy an alarm system
  4. Looks awesome
  5. Cheers guys, totally agree about the spoiler - looks naked without it. Not sure when the spoked will be painted/fitted though.
  6. Cheers guys, certainly feels good to be on the road. I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot more with the power steering back in though, especially if it stops the steering wheel juddering. Cheers, yeah I totally agree, the low down torque makes driving up hill easier! That's not true, I don't know anyone who has had 'big power gains' by using any 5E cams in a 4E. The 5E-FHE has a 30degree higher lift than all the other cams, this should make an improvement but I doubt it would be a huge improvement! Anyway, the cars now covered 230 miles and everything is good apart from a slight judder which I'm sure is due to the TPS, so that needs setting right. The brakes are now better but there's still barely any pedal feel when cold. Mapping before Japfest too is possible, but I'm going to leave it for now. I just want everything perfect and the mapping can then be the last piece of the puzzle. A few pictures from today with my brothers GT Still a messy interior, I don't have the missing panels so I've bought them from another member. Hopefully they will arrive this week. The centre console to hold the AVCR isn't yet complete either. The CD player also packed in so I need to dig out another one.
  7. Looks good, not sure on the whole marmite thing though as it looks like a normal Glanza with Rota GT3s!
  8. Cheers guys, not sure about JF2 yet. I have a stand pass so I'll try to be there. The cars now back on the road with a new alternator, I've already clocked up 157 miles in the first day of driving. Quick pic with my mates B18 EG.. There are small problems that need sorting such as the throttle cable sticking, brakes still need sorting as they don't work well, steering juddering a little which I'm hoping will be sorted when the power steering is back in at some point this week. Also need an oil sandwich plate so the gauges can finally be connected. Other than that, the engine itself runs sweet and the 5E lower torque feels pretty damn good! Just need to make time to paint the bonnet and spoiler, and buff the car as it's still not done!
  9. Do you know these could actually do more bad than good? The engine runs at the manufacturers temp for a reason.
  10. Good stuff, best of luck to all those with the new titles!
  11. Cheers guys, planning to run 1.2 bar on this. The engine was built in a day, the cylinder head was assembled by an engineer as he ported and polished it, so we just had to bolt that on once the bottom one was together. Most of the time was spent waiting on parts!
  12. Only one way to learn - give it a shot! An update from last couple of days.. Sump and a few other bits fitted Almost ready to fit New flywheel Fitted at late night! She is running and sounds sweet! Went for a little drive last night and the alternator packed in so that's next to fix.
  13. Ma There's 2 types of Toms bumpers. One to fit early fogs which are more square and the other to fit the later fogs.
  14. Looking forward to seeing this turbo kit fitted, it's been a long time coming! ;)
  15. I imagine it would be awesome on track on a TD04! Engine won't be going in today as I'm waiting on a new timing belt. Gives is a chance to check valve clearances and fit the remaining few parts.
  16. Welcome along!
  17. Cheers Mark, I look forward to it myself. Not sure how much boost to run yet but I'll decide when it's on the road! Cheers Micky, the cam gears on the 4E/5E are the same.
  18. You don't need the wings, just the headlights with bonnet and bumper.
  19. Cheers Ed! The engine is now built, huge thanks to my mate Usman and my cousin Shaq for giving me a hand with it today. Pictures from the process.. New engine spec list so far: 5E-FHTE engine 4E-FTE pistons on FHE rods Mild ported & polished head Valves lapped Polished crank ACL bearings New OEM piston rings New OEM oil pump New OEM engine gasket set New OEM 3E flywheel New OEM distributor cap & rotor arm New water pump New oil pressure switch Zep 1.2mm headgasket ARP headbolts Spec 4E paddle clutch 4EFTE oil filter housing Polished cam cover (unfinished) Smoothed & polished fuel rail Custom inlet manifold 4AGE throttle body Race-tech TD05 turbo kit Jperformance FMIC Fujitsubo Power Getter exhaust
  20. For some strange reason, they didn't. Brand new from TM-D too but no sheets in the box!
  21. Cheers Lewis! Atleast you're back with another one mate, cheers! Should be there Inshallah! With this being my first engine build I really wasn't sure about ring gaps. All a learning curve ey! The gaps on the new piston rings are the standard recommended ones (0.48 for top ring and 0.57 for bottom ring from the top of my head)
  22. Cheers More new parts! 3E flywheel and OEM oil pump Cam cover braided fittings ACL bearings & piston compressor, which means the build can begin when I have some free time!
  23. I did the same to my old GT, although mine was just one piece that broke off! Looks like it was in a similar place to yours too.
  24. Looks about right to, 12" is the ideal size too.
