hi all anyone know the performance details for a bog standard 1.0 12 valve? also are engine mods required on this model (i know ideally for track days the answer is yes) but its a dead light car power to weight ratio must be on the good side basically would some small handling tweeks make it a competitive car on track days etc???

sounds nice but i love full arches and low profile tyres can't really afford to do anything with the car at the moment, run out of car funds will take a look if you get round to wheels before me i will take a look, one thing that puts me off that idea is that there is a saxo in my area done with the same idea (black steelies, yellow lip, spacers on the back)

i hadnt, what size were you thinking? 14's 15's. personally i like the idea of jdm wheels, the steelys already on are too small for my liking, would love 15's possibly 16's thanks for the input though mate

some beauties coming up lads very clean starlet that i found for sale recently a beautiful selection of jap goodness love the lip and wheels mmmm big arches speechless the first time i saw the green beast finally found a starlet the same as mine i think this is my inspiration for my current car old skool my mums and dads old baby miss it daily (sold to make way for a grande punto, not too bad) always loved 80's beemers (prefer them to new ones) my ultimate car hope other people find these beautiful

thanks for your replies guys i was just wondering as in the future i am going to be looking at having a fast starlet, not for a good while yet. i totally understand that about insurance as my car is going to be expensive enough. i can't afford to do a fast starlet for a good while yet but wondering was annoying me. thanks for solving my mental niggle

looking to sell some front lamps i was going to fit to my car, on the car (rested on never properly fitted they are boxed and new taken out for these two pictures only (bulbs included) i may also be looking to sell a pair of kenwood speakers if my grandad does not want them for his matiz they are also brand new and boxed and i have a bog standard kenwood headunit plays mp3 cd's nothing much more, but very good quality although dad may want that is his tank (volvo 440) will get more pics if anyone is interested in these items, and i will post them in the classifieds section but the fog

they were just an idea as i can get hold of either of these sets of wheels easily, and thanks for the comments took it off this morning; sanded, primed, sprayed, sanded the toyota back to the metal then laqured the whole lot. quite nice for a rattle can job!!! and thanks mate

have been a very busy guy today working hard on the engine of my star, asthetically only though the air box and radiator supports were rusty painted the cover painted the top cover (rocker cover) to match the car ground the paint of the toyota badge and then laqured it also used a cloth dampend with white spirit to clean ignition leads nice and bright now

can't thank people enough for the time and thought put into the ideas for my car, thanks for all the help

i will mod a starlet some time very soon, but as i could not afford to mod this one when i started, i shall leave it that way while i learn to drive and then either mod this one, get an SR or something similar to mod may drop it on new springs and put some wheels on but keep the old ones to sell it standard when i do eventually get rid, going to try and save money though too, want a £900 mac and a £700 camera, ouch!!! will look into that buddy, thanks
