Delete the ABS yourself. 6 small brake pipes is all you will need and 2 T pieces. Will save a small fortune and its easy peasy.

Completely agree mate

Exactly what I meant when I said you dont use this sort of thing to hone your skills. Obviously I wasn't aware that you would have a mechanic helping you that changes things but if your doing a whole engine its not the sort of thing you do for practice. An incorrectly built bottom end can be catastrophic would be an expensive expensive lesson. As said take your time get someone to help you and use the correct tools for the job. All the best with it.

Wish I could mate but I need the cash for my build. Anyone? Offers on the wheels? They look immense when refurbed.

Torques are in the wiki section as for guides in my opinion and i'm not being patronising but if your not confident rebuilding an engine then I wouldn't advise that you do it. Its not the kind of thing you use to hone your mechanical skills.

Honestly theres a couple of ready built forged starlets already making that power and completely set up for sale on the section on here. Johns to be more specific might be asking 7k but theres a reason for that. Would cost you double to build it.

Its a generalisation and if you hang about long enough youll see exactly why I said it.

Thats the problem now though always the same dreamers getting one and thinking awwww I'm gna get 350bhp but ive only got 50 quid to spend I'll see who I can bargain with. Then they realise they cant insure them because they are 19. Same shit diff day it's getting boring now then the car gets broken and another one finds its way to the scrappy....

Help with cooling fan for half size radiator
StuDoc 72 replied to crispyeel's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Im going to be running the old fan from my air con. 3 screws on the fan take it off. Drill out the centre so that it can fit flush and bolt it back on the other way to change the direction of it. Free almost effortless slimline fan -
Ticking noise from behind glove box on boost
StuDoc 72 replied to paddy's topic in MOT & Maintenance
Pull out your glovebox then and go a drive get someone to sit in the passengers seat and hunt for it. -
ct12 is better for low down revs anyway its not any better up the rev range than ct9 so I wouldnt worry about trying to get the most out of it. I know you dont want to spend money but IMO buy a P&P ecu for 450-500 run that then sell it when your finished with the car. In the 7 years ive had a starlet I've never seen the price of P&P ecus change so you wouldn't lose any money on it.

This ^^ may aswell have a car you dont give a fuck about that works than one you wish you had given slightly more fucks about that doesnt.
