Do you like posting everything twice Do you like posting everything twice
  3. Cant say I like the look of the 2 different wheels at all looks like you have a spare fitted or couldnt afford the full set. Just personal opinion though I like the front set.
  4. Is it not going on at all? If you can get it on slightly and lined up with the dowels then just stick a box bolt through and tighten it up should pull it on the rest of the way.
  5. Been in solitary confinement for the last 25 years last I heard
  6. STI seats from a Subaru are about £100 2nd hand and fit in with a hammer and a drill and a bit of gentle persuasion. Best budget seats for a car if you ask me. They dont look outstanding but they hug you better than most £500 seats Ive sat in. Function over form any day.
  7. Sounds like the bearing mate is it a droning noise or another kind of noise?
  8. Shortly after those pics were taken the turbo sadly ate the child.................... he was never seen again.
  9. Gettin there mate. Getting the electrics all sorted shud be your priority after that everything will jus fall into place.
  10. It can be fucking horrible mate. Get the car on axle stands which I assume you already have done. Make sure nothing is in the way and line the clutch plate up as central as possible. Have a jack under the sump not the gearbox but have the engine hanging down on only the drivers side mount. The jack is just there to stop the engine mount from tearing. Put the box on till its at least hanging there. Then lie with your head at the n/s wheel and feet at the o/s wheel with the box over your belly/chest and wiggle and push it like fuck it will slip on. Make sure u grease the input shaft
  11. Theres probably a load of oil in the tmic if it was run while over filled.
  12. If you are changing your mani and down pipe the turbo will have to come out regardless mate. Its easier to take it out as 1 complete thing. Id recommend changing to a braided oil feed aswell racetech are doing a group buy on them just now I think I seen. As for CT9A and CT9B there are differances but they arent noticable. A hybrid will always be a better choice its just down to your budget.
  13. Aye take the power steering pump off to get the left hand side bottom 1 and do above for the right hand side. I used a spanner for all 4 of the centre 1s then ratchet on the 2 outside nuts. You shouldnt have to split the kit at all. Its just more hassle than its worth IMO really depends on your skill level. If your not as familiar working on an engine then removing it bit by bit might be the only option.
  14. Shouldnt have removed the needles mate. The dials have a circle cut out the middle with a small notch coming off it all in the shape of a stand by emblem. This is to fit over the needles. Good chance you will need to removed the needles again and fit them in the right position but they are very delicate so I would imagine they will be knackered. As for the wires you can cut a notch out the black trim for the wires to go past or I removed 1 of the 2 larger bulbs on the cluster and passed them all through the hole.
  15. Id say the caliper might be seized mate if the cable was snapped you would expect the handbrake lever to come up very high as there is no tension on the split bit in the cable. Always inspect before commiting.
  16. Looks good mate. Will look even better when you do the above. You need an FMIC aswell to fill the biiiiig whole.
  17. For the budget you are buying in I would definately go for a BM as a good looking CLK in your budget would be high mileage. Anything older has the dual headlights rather than the individual quads and the duals are awful. I just think you would get a better quality and better looking car with the BM. If you were spending 20k I'd say get the merc. You might get even more for your cash with a 1 series msport or even a Lexus of some sort.
  18. I really wouldnt be able to tell you mate I'm not filled in on these but i can only assum tuning would be very costly. I'd get it mapped and leave it at that.
  19. I looked at the C class coupe but they werent nice untill 2011 and those cost a minimum of 20k and I wouldnt touch any before that as they are fugly and tacky inside. Thats the main problem with mercs you have to buy somthing relatively new as they went through that cost cutting period which meant their general styling inside and out. Aswell as the quality of the interior was really poor.
  20. What cars the 320d? Mine is 180bhp its reasonable. I didnt buy it for speed but it shifts as neccessary. Its no starlet mind. Faults: Check the alloys if buying 1 with 19" wheels. They are prone to cracking if they are fitted with runflats. Also listen to the engine there have been cases of timing chain failure. Listen for a ticking from the rear of the engine. Apart from that they are superb. Mine is a 58 plate. and there are no rattles from the interior what so ever. Driving at 80mph is completely silent. The quality ooozes out of it.
  21. Ah I see mate. It really depends what kind of mileage you do. A diesel is only really justifiable if you do motorway miles. For driving in and about town doing 0-40mph you will get terrible mileage. Youd be farr better off with a small petrol engine. As for insurance I would really double check that. Mine is only a 320d msport and still insurance group 17 or 18 its not cheap by any means. Try to avoid any Mercs between 1995-2006 as they went through a faze of cost cutting and the quality of the cars was awful.
