In my old work which was to be fair quite an honest garage. The owner had a bad habbit of trying to save customers money by fixing things with a bodge he was in love with liquid metal haha. I seen an old e class merc with an MDF cover underneath as it was rotten out and wanted an MOT. We had a car that had a broken clutch fork so in his infinite wisdom decided that cutting a spanner and welding it in there instead of ordering a new part would be a good idea ...... it wasn't. Ive seen people repair old body work with paper mashe!

A fucking cool car that has been raped by a bunch of max power cruisers!!! Get an abarth kit on it and get it yellow it will look the dogs danglies.

With external screamer pipes they are just basically a bit of tube with a flange that will bolt onto the exit side of the wastegate. to take the fumes down and under the car away from the engine bay. The complicated bit will be where to cut the mani and weld in the pipe that will go to the wastegate and getting a flange for the wastegate.

If they are good welders then they can most defenately do it. It's all down to whether you trust them cutting a hole in your mani to weld in a pipe to bolt the waste gate to. It could also compromise the strength of the mani.

They work perfectly my friend. Dont be fooled by the rust they are old but they are top quality as are the springs. As far as drivability and performance I noticed very little to no difference between this set up and my meister r's they are very good.

U can normally get a working 1 on ebay for about 40-80 quid.

U want to get the money without doin so much work.....sell drugs.

Very much doubt its the stem seals if it was ud get a big puff of smoke when u started it after its been lying all night. If you dont then its defo the turbo.

What? Your speedo cable goes into the box just now. It has a metal collar on the end that is the part that unscrews and comes off the box. Have you just pulled the cable straight out of that?

It will be the turbo matey. Most turbos will only smoke on idle or coming off boost. Not normally when on boost. Just check all breathers and turbo pipes are nice and tight and nothing is blocked.

Unscrew the speedo cable which goes into the gearbox. Screw it onto the convertor and screw the convertor onto the gearbox where the cable went. Make sure the cable doesnt come out too far or it will come out the back of your dials and youll need to pull them out and put it back in and it just becomes a pain in the tits.

Shockers or ball joints are fucked id say. Quite a common things with starlet people have been battling wavy steering on these for years.

Just turn it by hand then my friend. Will be far easier to see.

It will splatter everywhere, done it loads on different engines and the 4e cams are quite open to the elements lol. Take off the rocker and turn the bottom pully with a wheel bar. You will be able to see how much the valves are moving. Clockwise Obviously lol.
