Got the car started today! but...... and a big fucking but, i had an oil leak which was like niagra falls comming out of my engine whats worse it was coming out between the head and the block in the bottom left corner, on further inspection i noticed that with a feeler guage where the oil leak is i can stick at least 1mm in between the head and the block!!!!!! I dont know what the fuck has happened but as it stands the head isnt completly flush with the block, I have taken the rocker off and double checked the head bolts and they are all tight as fuck, as it stands the only things i can think off that have caused this is. 1. Most likely a damaged dowl on the block is some how interfering with the head being tightned properly, i resused the originals and i remember them looking a bit shit!! 2. Unlikely but a possibility, the machine shop have some how either fucked up decking my block or skimming my head so they are not completly straight. Argggghhh, another day tomorrow working on it stripping it to pieces!!!! I am just praying the dowl it just fucked and its not letting the head sit completly flat. Titty wank!!

yeah when you start going 150+ everything kind flys past at warp9 speed! All i was thinking was argggghhhhhhh this would be a really bad time to have a blow out lol!!!

So whats the fastest you have ever been in a car before? of course none of these figures quoted are on the highway mr police man. I think i have had about 135 out of my starlet with a ct9 on it, never tried with a td04 but i could image it was hell of alot more Fastest though i have done is about 150mph in my lotus exige downhill and that was bloody mental!

Finally car will be ready to start this weekend!! Manifold turns up this Friday and will get it fitted that day I have just realised why i have been so skint over the last 4 months while its been off the road, I have spent over £3100 on the 5e build with turbo setup, owch!! better be amazing lol!!

how much power are you after you can easily get about 275ish with a TD04 and a good map,

Cheapest way to fix it is just buy a new box, you can pick one up for about £50-£100, try and get a glanza one as it will most likely lower mileage.

Hi Sorry to hear your gearbox has started doing this, mine did the same recently and its a common fault on this gearbox. Its because your 5th gear syncro has become worn and the teeth have worn down to a point that they no longer hold the gear in place. The 5th gear is housed in the end casing of the gearbox, you will notice that there is a small end cover which can come off without having to take the gearbox out or split it. You could repair it your self or stick a new box in I repaired mine as i had a spare gearbox. There is a guide on here somewhere on how to do it, but i cant bloody find it!

as long as my engine doesnt give me any issues, next is off to the body shop to get some minor paint work done and also get my wheels nice and shiney and if its even possible detail my gold paintwork to shine too!

I have got 4 15" steel wheels, which i want stripping back and repainted in black. They are a little rusty and my rattle can job hasnt lasted as long as i expected. Want to get it done properly so sandblasted to get all the old shit/rust off and then repainted. Whats the going rate for 4?

Well its a full td04 racetech kit so I think its gonna boost 10x better than my old toyosports setup, i also quite like the idea of having a turbo that will spool like a ct9 on my 5e Should come on boost about 2.5-3k on a 5e i reckon, nice! Will see how it goes, if i get bored i can always whack a bigger snail on!!

After much deliberation on turbo setups and all that jazz, I have finally bitten the bullet and bought a racetech system from Abbott, just gonna pay him the deposit this evening. Looks tasty, cant wait to get it! Racetech for the win!

yeah at that sort of power i would expect that but from experience it was problem free at 200 horses worth knowing as loads of people spend shit loads on race clutchs and dont even break 200!

if your standard clutch is in good nick its good for 200hp, save your money dude and change it once its worn out. I ran td04 on track with the stock clutch at 204hp for 2 years with no slippage and it was fine! I think people over exagerate the need for race spec clutches, if your draging it then i would say yes, otherwise no need unless you start going mad power.
