Looking at a GT that's using water, what could it be?

With a knackered HG i would say £1500 is on the steep side as your buying an engine with potentially a can of worms of problems, i bought a GT as my first starlet with a HG failure thinking it was a cheap fix, paid to get it repaired then it blew a piston a month later!! I reckon £1250 is about right so gives you some spending money for any other hidden gems! -
So we have got this huge marquee, whats actually goes in it have we got a sound system or somthing for getting pissed up in the night?

My Gizzmo IBC-R for some reason is not controlling my boost at all with my new external waste gate, the boost will increase and increase as if the wastegate is firmly shut. I noticed the setup for an external wastegate is different to an internal wastegate on the way you hook it up. Does it matter which way around the solonoid is connected to the external wastegate? I have just been thinking today that this maybe why its not able to control the wastegate?

jesus my starlet is gobbling fuel like a mofo then, i put in 20 litres and i get about 120 miles! I am going to assume its down to running a RRFPR with an fcd, the only way to control the afr is by ramping up the fuel pressure but this makes it run really rich, hmmm. Maybe management will actually save my fuel bill!

No he means take pictures of the ends of the plugs lol, if you have got any oil on your plugs (the electrode) then that is bad and would explain your smokey exhaust. First check your intercooler piping and confirm that your oil seals on the turbo havent blown, you should get a light oil residue in there but not soaking wet. If thats ok then you need to determine if your head is leaking oil into your bores or your piston rings are leaking and letting oil pass up into the combustion chamber, which is more likely. To find out get a compression tester measure all 4 cylinders with a warm engine,

Got the car booked into the garage tomorrow, Xzorst who did my custom exhaust and intercooler pipework,, need to get my exhaust system modified slightly to fit the new Racetech Mani/turbo system and a bit of work just to adjust the intercooler piping to hook up the turbo. Nothing major probably an hour and half work, then its off to the MOT station and some tax, then its road legal and a weapon again!!! I really hope i get it back Friday afternoon, well say Weapon i got to run it in then! Although that will be 1000 miles of driving pleasure

Hey Hawwy didnt you not long go TD04? I am going to bet my left ball that you have been running to much boost on standard internals, i.e anything over 1.1bar Your not the first to turn up the boost controller and not the last lol!!

It shouldnt make any difference if its running a FCD or mapped, either way it should be quick as fook. If its not boosting properly check out things like the wastegate, is it external or internal. It can hold 1 bar boost but if the wastegate isnt closing fully you will lose the initial punch when you put your foot down, so worth checking your actuator. What rpm does it take to get to 1bar?

I did it to my ep82, only problem i found was that it ruins the car to drive as a daily if you go as drastic as i did, it gets so rattly boomy i used to hate driving it on the road unless i was on track. I removed all the interior, pulled up the sound deadening on the floors, there is tons of shit behind the dash you can throw out, i removed the rear skin to the boot, passenger seat, ermm if it wasnt bolted down it came out!

How can i slightly bend my exhaust without kinking it

Since putting my new manifold decat on, it doesnt line up properly with my custom full exhaust system to the decat pipe, its lined up ok in terms of being straight, but the pipe points up too much and you cant quite fit it. I need to bend the pipe down slightly by the flexi pipe to get it to fit. The full system comes off easy enough, anyone got any suggestions for bending it slightly without kinking the pipe? Trying to save my self some money and getting it to fit my self, rather than lugging it back down the exhaust place.
