yes oil pumps are the same, only sump and pickp is different. I am using the 4e one too.
-
hmmm yeah for some reason the stock 5e sump is nearly twice as deep as the 4e looking at it, should i use the stock 5e sump and pickup and just tap in a new oil return for the turbo, it looks like it holds oil much better! It does look like its got baffle in it but its not a very good design, its shallow and hard cornering the oil can just spill out to the side!

i have been reading people say that the 5efte can suffer from low oil pressure, can somone explain why this is over the stock 4e which has no probems and neither does the original stock 5efe. i am wondering if i should do the oil pressure relief valve mod or if i should leave it alone?

Hi This has happened to my box also, i think its a common fault on these boxes. I believe its usually down to a worn 5th gear selector in the box. I have been wondering my self if i shoud repair it or just buy another 2nd hand box for £100, but its pot luck then what your buying. Either way the repair will be hundreds, if thats worn then other part will be too, how are the syncros on yours, does it crunch going into any other gears?

I would love to go back, i went there for my honeymoon last year ha ha!
-
Does that include the clutch? The clutch on its own with the clutch plate is going to cost you about £100, then i would expect about £100-150 to fit it.

Pritty much any of the VF series turbos are better than the TD series, the TD series i.e TD04/TD05 are the older generation turbos which were first released when Scoobies started coming on the scene. They were later replaced with the VF series which provided much better spool times and peak power. Although the TD series for this reason are much cheaper from about £50-£90 as opposed to about £250+ for teh VF series turbos. Have a read here />http://www.scoobytuner.com/tuning/?tSfID1=4&tuningID=43 If you can afford it get your self a VF24 if not go for a TD04, a TD04 on a 4e engine wi

Got a couple of questions on which places require instant gasket when putting the engine together, i know the sump needs it but on removing some other parts i noticed that they had sealant them too, in particular on the clutch side where there is a plate that bolts on which goes around the crank, does this need some? And also i noticed the cam caps on the every end, the last ones at the very side of the block, seem to have instant gasket on them too. Can someone clear this up for me

Bought a bigger one this year so we can make the crossing across the Bristol channel from Swansea to Ilfracombe. Cant wait! Had to drive miles to get it from Newcastle but was well worth it, its a 2 stoke 75hp and its bloody quick! Some rib action on the sea, sorry for the camera shaking around i was trying to hold on for dear life!! [media=]http://youtu.be/uITq6KW81oE

Slowly getting together, all the pistons are finally in now Gapped the rings This took bloody ages, measuring the bores and calculating the minimum gap size finished up last night with the pistons in, crank in, all torqued down so the bottom end is now in, fitted the new oil pump and put the head on Just need to torque the beast down next as i had left the tool at home! doh

yeah pissed off with that, turns out wossner fucked up and had the rings ín stock all along, it wasnt until a letter of complaint went their way before they sorted it! either way build is back on so engine should be rebuilt in the next week or so, i sold my td04 turbo/manifold setup so im going for somthíng mega now, Td04/td05 are way too common so im lookin for somthing BIG!

yes lol :0

finally the build is back on!

finally got my replacement piston ring today to replace the one i snapped! so made some progress this evening :0

hi Yes i still have the crank and I do have a crank pulley you can have in addition to the crank if you want. The caps on the crank will be specefic to the block, so unless you buy the block too i cannot split them as they are machined for that matching block. With the crank pulley ill do it for £100 plus any postage charges.

I have rang around everyone i knew that sold the pistons and no one anyone in europe or the states had stock of them. I dont know how they have suddenly said they have one now, maybe its because i said I only needed one ring, rather than the whole set. Either way i am happy as now, just dont bloody break these ones or i am really fooked lol!
-
Yeah $100! i think thats the fastest delivery they can offer from the states, i might say its not as urgent as that and ask if i can pay less lol

After a month of not being able to build my engine as Wossner didnt have any piston rings world wide for my 74.5mm pistons. Then finding out that they are not going to get any more in for 6-9months I was not happy! Fired off a letter of complaint to the main office and got a reply this morning My original letter: Hello I have just purchased a new set of Wossner pistons for my Toyota Starlet GT, Specs of pistons here: http://i422.photobuc...99/IMAG0155.jpg However on fitting them one of the piston rings were damaged during assembly, in particular the middle ring. I didnt think much of t
