**Parts For Sale** Whole Demo Car Breaking!!
_shaun_ replied to ToyotaTech15's topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
would it be wise to use the block for forged pistons with out it going back to a machine shop? mine asked me to take the pistons in so it could be matched exactly to each bore so am not sure if its smart to use a block machined for someone elses pistons -
link ive looked into and am very impressed but as it will be awhile before it actauly gets done just wanting to look around see what else is on the market. i was looking at the megasquirts when chris was selling them and although i had the cash for it waiting he never bothered selling me one so i dunno if id like it incase something went wrong id realy like something with some aftercare incase anything goes wrong

remove the plastics trim from the shifter and ull have the shifter unit and ull see the 2 cables undo the 4 bolts holding it to the floor and theres 2 u-shaped metal clips holding the cables and some clips on the underside. i done this and pulled the metal cable and it just came out in my hand so was a bit of a give away it snapped but your cables should move fairly easy and u should gear be able to select gears if the cables are fine if so am clueless . but if they are snapped what i done was panic pmed to iddy saying AMGAWD I NEED CALBES! he kindly sent them the next day and i just cable tided the side of the cables that go on the gearbox side to the side of the old cables in the cabin had to undoa few bolts holding the cables in place am pretty sure then went to engine bay grabed the selector cables and pulled like crap till the came out might be an easyer way but worked for me then unbolted the old cables from the gearbox and attacted new cables. this was on a glanza tho so might be very slightly diffrent for urself.
-
easy if not slightly annoying. theres 2 cables that from under your gearshifter to your gearbox u need to replace them toyota would gang rape you on price my first port of call would be idrees to see if he has any spares kicking around if not bang upa wanted post
-
sounds like selector cable has snaped
-
i only get crap from one guy at work but its friendly banter realy and as he works on a 600bhp scooby in his spare time i let it slide but he just refers to my car as the puddle jumper
