Yes, i did mean 98 are diffrent to 96. Ie, prefacelift is different to prefacelift. From my looks to swap the housing/black base is very easy. 3 screws at the bottom of the mirror for 98 spec, and 4 for 96 spec. If you have whataspp, pm me, i have some photos of the mirror i can send you

Just be aware bud that 98spec ones are different to 96 spec I have a broken one that's fine. The casing is mint but the black base is broken. If your base is ok you could swap them Let me know if that's any good to you
