Spent today fitting my new discs and pads and everything went alright tbh! Only bits of bother we ran into were the 2 piston like things on the caliper (sorry don't know what's what with brakes ) which are held on with 12mm bolts iirc; they were jammed up and we had to push them out using a fair bit of force. Also found out that i have braided brake lines front and back aha I took the car out for a short run and the amount of noise coming from the brakes is stupid! It sounds like a metal on metal sound and you can mainly hear it when turning right. Any idea why this is?

As above, needs to be set up properly on a rolling road to make sure your fueling correctly throughout the rev range. If you do it yourself you could end up not fueling correctly and creating BIG problems!

Ye i'll post up on here my thoughts on the bakes. If they dont break that is! lol - No joke intended lol

Only just seen your update with the coilovers fitted! Looks awsome mate! Nice set of wheels and this will be perfect

Hopfully i have a bit better luck than you! :| I'm hopfully going to be getting bigger brakes a few months down the line so let's hope they last until then!

Ye, did a couple of searches and saw people were saying drilled discs tend to crack easier! So saw thhis deal on ebay and thought i'd get a set mines even lower than yours! haha. Mine, i think, is 21% at the minute! I'll reply back on here once the pads are bedded in and give them a good test from cold and warmed up

Right after i had the MOT done i went through the advisories list and decided to correct everything on there before i do anything else to the car. It was advised on front brake imbalance, low front pads and both rear wheel bearings. First things first, i ordered a set of grooved discs and EBC yellow stuff pads from ebay. Heres a quick picture; will be fitting them tommorow hopfully as well as bleeding the system I know they're not the best discs in the world but at £116 included pads, they'll do for now Also, after reading plenty of threads about the different types of EBC pads it

I am planning on bleeding the system when i change the discs and pads. Going to use Toyota DOT 5.1 fluid. So after all of this is done hopfully my braking problems will be sorted! Ahh great, should be able to do the bearings myself then! Cheers for the quick replys guys

Had my MOT done a week or so back now and i had the following advisories: Measurements Brakes Advisories: RBT Front Brake Imbalance: 21% Advisory Items 001 Front Brake pad(s) wearing thin 002 Nearside rear wheel bearing has slight play 003 Offside rear wheel bearing has slight play 004 Front Brakes only just met the front brake imbalance requirements. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair 005 Sill c overs fitted I've just bought some new Discs and Pads to replace the fronts. After replacing these will all the braking advisories mentioned above be sorted? Onl

Welcome!

How much do these sort of conversions cost? And once bought are they fairly simple to fit? Panhard rod is on the list to get at some point so will just wait until i have one then. Are hubcentrics a must compared with the 'normal' spacers like you would get on ebay? Hubcentric or ebay ones? Did it push your wheels out a decent amount?
-
AS much as i'd like wilwoods, i really can't afford them! Will 10mm really make a noticable difference?

First of all my brakes are dangerously low on the front now so i'm looking at replacing both discs and pads up front. Just looking for some good but reasonably priced options, with links if possible! Also, i wouln't mind looking into getting some bigger calipers/ discs if the price is right so any info on this option would be great as well! Secondly, my rear wheels seem to be lost in the arches at the minute and it makes me sad = You can just about see in that picture how lost they are! What sort of sized spacers should i be looking to get and how much are they going to cost? Thanks in

Cheers Marc. Haha it will all be worth it it the end Thanks mate ! :rtfm:

Looking forward to seeing this sit how it should!
-
Cheers Liam :rtfm: Haha ye mine were looking pretty dull/rusty as well, it's definitely worth doing! Flat wiper blades look a lot better as well IMO
-
Havn't updated this for a while so here goes! First things first, ripped off the wiper arms sanded them down, primed and sprayed them. Also bought some flat wiper blades to go with them. Look so much better than they did; should have done it so much sooner! Shitty pic but you can see how black they are now Secondly, got my private plates fitted to the car which in turn got rid of the oldd broken pates already on the car. Ordered a pedo bear sticker which went on the back window and i found a black shocker sticker in the garage so that went on as well! Finally, today i got my MOT done
