yours was most probs the orginal gasket from factory so has been on a few years so lasted very well. i havnt had no success with a athena yet. -
i had the block and head skimed before anyone asks. i then fit this new athena mls head gasket put every back together etc. then started the engine up within 5-10mins the head gasket was leaking oil at the front of the head at the cambelt side right where the oil way is. i then striped it all out to investigate and looked at the gasket i couldnt work out how this athena gasket would seal around the oil way as there were 2 holes and one of them has nothing flat to seal on against the head unlike the genuine toyota that can seal flat around the oil way on the head. . just wondering if some one h

first of all thats not fair if your having a dig at dave, as the first meet he organized i thought went well. as for this last meet myself couldnt go and alot of others had faults with cars or didnt have much money, so he couldnt help that. rant over my car is off the road at the mo. im hoping to get it done for japfest. after then i can do most weeks and not fussed where to etc.

im looking at getting a oil cooler and making me own kit. i would like to see what the rest of you have got and weather you use a thermostat or not. thanks

that would be good i should be able to get to the next meet. ive got it all up and running but the head gasket is leaking oil its either a faulty gasket or my fuck up putting it on wrong :/ so going to take the head off today and see if i can see what the problem is.
