Its boosting perfectly in 1-3rd. 4th it all drops off and just doesn't pick up.. Im hoping its because of the lamba not been plumbed in..

Question is, will that cause the loose of boost?

So basically had a 2 page debate on the site wether to fit the decat or not blah blah. I decided to chance my arm. Fitted it this evening, took a ridiculously long time as i left the front bumper and radiator on the car i just couldn't be dealing with draining it etc.. Anyway, it's all fitted. A SLIGHT blow which i will cure this weekend. However, when i get into 4th & 5th gear. i literally have no boost. 1,2,3 boosting, 4th nothing 5th nothing. Now, i will say that the sensor in the top of the decat isn't currently fitted, im removing this tomorrow at a local garage its currently got bolt in it nice and tight. Im hoping this is the reason im having such huge issues? Can anyone shed some light at all.. First major modification and the car is throwing a wobbler on me! Thanks

I dont know his, but mine is on 82,000 KILOMETERS. Geniune mileage?.. So i would presume it would be in an ok condition also?

Boost creep im worried about

I just want to make sure i know the pro's/con's to this before i takle it after work (if i decide too)... If it creeps.. is it likely to be a damaging amount on such a standard engine?

Maybe?.. I wouldn't know anywhere to get it ported either...I'm so puzzled now! haha

Jamie.. Any idea on the decat.. boost creep.. engine POP talk above?

Yeah i read into widening the wastegate on TGTT.. But, got put off as the turbo unit isn't so big reducing the size can greatly increase the chances of cracking especially as they run stupidly hot. I wonder if using the standard airbox without the OEM cold air intake would help....

Well in that case, im completely LOST as to where i go next with the car..

I'd rather be safe than sorry in all honestly. It's not massively important to fit this right now. But, i have it and it would be nice to do it. But i can wait. How can i stop the boost creep etc then? As end of the month ill be doing the airfilter relocation, removing aircon and fitting a FMIC along with a unsilenced HKS midsection. Then id like to fit the decat.. Im guessing the only way to avoid the boost creep is fitting my adjustable HKS actuator or going to a Emanage setup?

Need a boost gauge asap. Whatcha got?

I have the same setup. Air filter in standard place, catback..decat to go on.. I just dont want to cause damage to the engine by fitting the decat... As i wont be able to see the boost.

Thanks dude. The only thing im worrying about now is that if i fit the decat without a boost gauge it may be overboosting? I dont want to be hitting fuel cut constantly etc?.. You think on a standard engine it will be ok?

Okay. Does anyone know what size spanner i'll need to remove the sensors from the original cat?

Changing the front mount wont make a difference. Maybe boost would come in less than 50rpm quicker. Unnoticeable!

Okay, roughly how long did it take you?

So bought a decat and im itching to fit it. I have a standard engine, bar a filter, dumpvalve and HKS exhaust. Can i fit the decat without having to remove the front bumper etc? I know it's 3 or 4 bolts up the top, but i really cant be doing with removing half the front end for better access?. also, its a "braced" decat. Where does the brace bolt to give it support? Thanks EDIT: From looking around i could experience boost creep. I understand i can avoid this by fitting a boost gauge to monitor it etc. But that still doesn't stop you from being able to open it up throughout the rev range without issues?..Im abit puzzled as to where i can take it from here tuning wise..

If you have time, whip the old cat back on and see if the issue goes?
