i used 2 beads, one on the outside and one on the inside of the bolt holes if that makes sense. Get it fitted and bolted in place as quick as you can after using the sealent. You want it to set on the engine. It might also be an idea to use a torque wrench to tighten up all the bolts to the correct torque, overtightening can bend the sump which would result in a crap seal. And obviously dont put any oil in the engine for a good 24 hours.
