Yes its one of the first mods any one does on a starlet. I wouldn't knock the cat out the standard one in case you need it for MOT etc you can buy a ct9 decat relatively cheaply they are pretty common.

To test if you like it with a decat I'd reccomend getting a second hand one made by toyosports. They can be gotten for about 30 pounds but the quality is not great at all, invest in a good brand one if you decide to keep a decat

Yeh do it bud its a really good mod and makes the car sound a lot nicer and a tad quicker. just keep your cat for MOTs

Not wishing to thread hijack, but are there any benifts of a decat on a poverty spec starlet? And would it pass an mot without swapping it back over?

It sounds better, that's the only reason to decat an n/a really lol, and I doubt it's pass mot without one

All MOT emissions have the CAT test so it'd fail that. Depends how friendly your garage is- my gt4 used to become a Saab turbo for that part!

When I go turbo on the SR I was wondering if I'd be ok running something like a blitz decat? Everything else will be stock ct9 apart from running an EMB or similar. Just wondered if I'd get boost creep?
