Sefton-EP91 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Very easy job to do, took around 1hour to get the box out when i fitted my ORC309, took the shafts out complete and bunged up the holes with some old rag! Quote
tommyep82 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I wouldn't recommend for u to do it your self if u haven't any experience man, get someone who knows what there at, u could do more harm then good Quote
Flynn Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I have very limited knowledge but managed to do my clutch and swapped in an LSD box following a tutorial on TGTT iirc.As mentioned above you have to drop the box. Quote
epcashin Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 cunt of a job if the car is on the ground .easy with a lift Quote
MR-2 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 If experienced, very easy on the ground, small and light gearbox, one man job. Second time is usually easier Quote
5e colin Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 to the op i tried that 1s its possible but fuck me a lot of messing around it takes 2x longer to do as it's nigh on impossible to get you need engine hoist to lifty the engine and drop left side of box to open gap uptop be preppared to shred fingers til blood runs out as always somthing is going to move ha ha and pinch your fingers Quote
MR-2 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Takes time maybe more, but its only time, and maybe few tool also Engine hoist is good and one floor jack at least. Gearbox is very light when I compared to my MR2 E153 gearbox. Remember to change maybe few seals also to gearbox, and maybe to engine also if needed. I have sometime used my feets and stomach when pushing it back, that is the hardest part... Quote
