Automatic Glanza V or GT Turbo.

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I'm trying to find a Black Automatic Glanza V or GT Automatic (with low mileage under 100K Km's), I currently have a 1998 White Glanza V (OEM LSD, 84K Km's). I would like to part exchange or straight swap cars. I am based in Ireland but can pop over to the UK no problem for the right car.

Give me a shout anytime, I am new to this site but will check it regularly. Full spec and more photos can be provided on request.

Thanks, Matt.

Hi Mart, nope I'm a big fan too! My dad and bro are automatic transmission specialists and I've been test driving automatics the past 15 odd years, also I drive an automatic for work, so my Glanza just seems like hard work at the moment..I'm probably just lazy though at this stage!!

I saw a black one on this site (Here), that's pretty much what I'm after..don't know if it is still about.

What car did you get?

Me also getting lazy, I'm in my early 40s my everyday car is a ford kuga auto with the ford fiesta st engine in it.

My weekend toy that I bought in the end is a Mitsubishi fto GR 2.0 v6 auto 70400 miles and love it, becoming rare now but still cheep to buy, this one i have got was imported back in 2006 and only covered 10,000 miles in the uk so no rust at all, ok there not the fastest car i have ever owned but I'm getting a bit old for that haha they stick to the roads really well though, anyway here is a couple of pics

This one still up for sale http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/TOYOTA/STARLET/700060038530151030001/index.html I got a quote £3500 all in, just need too MOT and register, I was going to go for it but in the end decided not to bother with it being the same colour as my old glanza auto.

Have you tried JDMauctionwatch.com there over your way, I paid there £500 PayPal deposit with them and put a bid in on a grade 4 glanza v black with only 64000km, I just lost out on the bid:-(.

JDM auction watch "Patrick" very helpful, if it was me I would sell the manual and import.

Hey all, thanks for the help! Mart your FTO looks sweet! Yeah I'm registered with JDM auction watch, I missed a 1991 GT Turbo automatic grade 4 with 44k km's a while back, but I think you right, sell mine and import. The market here in Ireland is slow for selling anything at the moment though..

I personally would never want an auto, but I don't see why more people don't drive Autos. Half the people on the road today don't seem capable of driving, let along worrying about doing the gears. My old dear isn't exactly interested in cars so what does she benefit from a manual. Most people treat cars like tools, so why are we reluctant to buy more autos.

more people these days do drive automatic or semi auto and more car being built that way, just look at the super cars being built today semi auto, and look at the Nissan gtr, it's just the younger ones have it in there head that driving an auto is like it's a bad thing and you cannot drive properly.

I've been meaning to take mine out for a photoshoot soon, might do that and post an ad here. Yeah it's a really clean car, I did a really cool subtle mod with the rear seat which I haven't seen done before, so I'll post that too.

Just because if someone is a bad driver it's not going to make them any better driving an auto lol

No, but it IS one less thing to concern themselves about. Like I've been witness to some appalling driving. I just think that keeping it simple is the way to go.

Hey Mart, doing well, how about yourself?

That is good news, Glanza all the way!! I'm sure you'll get something nice! I got in touch with an importer over here in Ireland to see my price options for importing one in from Japan. Also got a quote on a Skyline R30 RS Turbo, but it was a bit out of my range..still waiting on prices for a Glanza

My TRD adjustable dampers came in the post the other day, going to start a topic on them as I am wondering can they be refurbed or do they need to be refurbed..

I'm doing good thanks, yeah hopefully mate one will turn up but if not then i will have to wait until next year and import one in😉

Is the price quotes from JDM auctionwatch? Or someone else? Hopefully you'll get a good price.

Are you going for a low mileage Grade 4?

That's my plan if i was to import.

TRD shocks a very nice, are they in good condition from looking at them or in a bit of a state? Yeah i would just put a thread up mate might be someone who knows what's best or where to go with them for refurb.

Hey Mart,

Yeah the quotes are from JDM auction watch, low mileage grade 4 all the way, you read my mind ha!

The TRD dampers are in ex condition, they were sprayed in wax oil and left on a shelf for years, unfortunately the rubber dust covers have perished a bit, but with a good cleaning and new wax oil done they should be good..

I'm not sure if I can put new oil in them or what is necessary to service them..
