then re build, head skimmed, block skimmed, re shimmed, honed, chemically cleaned etc

more updates. excuse pic quality

so whilst i was building the engine i bought a set of tein coilovers off a mate, that had seen better days tbh but worked fine with no leaks etc, so took them all apart and made a new locking collar on the lathe at work as 1 of them was missing, i also sandblasted them bare and repainted them and sent the springs off for zinc plating and powdercoated, also put some poly bush bump stops on them!!

dont have any before pictures.

update from a month or so ago

so whilst getting the car ready for the road after having oil go all over my clean bay when the engine blew, i decided to make a custom canch can!

so first got a £20 note money tin ftw and then started fabricating the lil beast

Image799.jpg

fabricated a nice alloy removable lid

Image800.jpg

i then added m6 nut inserts in the holes so i could thread bolts in to hold the lid on

after that it was time to fill the tin :(

Image805.jpg

once this was inserted i used 3 10mm nipples

Image803.jpg

Image806.jpg

and nearly finishedImage808.jpg

pics still to come of the custom bracket etc will update soon watch this space

as always comments welcome

How much has it cost you roughly to replace all these bolts with the clean ones? And also will you be making bonnet raisers for your stock? If so I may take a set in anodised pink.. :)

Really your attention to detail is great, considering you were going the wrong way about modifying cars from the first Starlet !! :p

cheers dude ye because ive had starlets since i was 16 id come from the whole maxpower and redline era think most of us have done it with first cars now im going full bore jdm/usdm hellaflush styleee not forgetting some decent power lol

the allen key bolts didnt cost that much tbh and make such a difference ive pretty much replaced everey m6 and mate theaded bolt on the car. im going to be getting some bolts in to make up some bolt tidy up kits for the starlets prices will be good also let me know if your interested? there fully zinc plated so wont rust etc

il look into bonnet raisers :(
