Nilz90 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Hi I brought the car with it leaking oil, I was wondering if anyone would know what the silver piece is in the below pic where the oil is leaking from?https://ibb.co/gOuEx5 Quote
gorganl2000 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 i'm not sure about the leak from the picture, but the oil pump is the "silver piece" between the black plastic cover and the engine block Quote
T-dog Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Oil pump they are sealed to the block with sealant , take off and reseal and why your there put a new cambelt side crank seal in to as they normally leak 👍🏼 Quote
Nilz90 Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 Cheers guys for your help, would I also be better off doing the waterpump while i'm there too?I brought the car which came with no history n apparently the engine was rebuilt 300 miles ago, not sure what sort of job they done if its leaking already so I'm thinking i'll be better off doing all of the above while i'm there. gorganl2000 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 if you are unsure, may be better to change the 2 seals and oil pump.....while you are there, you can inspect/change the water pump, timing belt and 2 tensioners Quote
Nilz90 Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Does anyone know how much roughly this job would cost for a garage? I spoke to one garsge snd he said engine might need to come out if its the oil pump? Quote
Ollieh17 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Engine won't need to come out on one of these Quote
