UPDATE (well kinda :p )

my car just passed its MOT and got serviced :p

the only problem is, is that there is a leak in the driveshaft seal (how much would it cost to fix at a dealer)... its leaking oil, and the brake shoes need replacing soon (im guessing on the rear drums).

i now have a Corrola mani, just no-one to fit it :(

and 6x9's (fitting in a couple of days hopefully)

SN154180.jpg

and my RIMS!! :D im going to be looking for tyres next week and get them fitted asap

the other 2 are outside

hopefully will update with pics on the car soon :)

Nice parts you got there,

As for the Drive shaft seal, the chances are a toyota dealer would charge 1-2 hours for a seal so it may come to £120 for labour plus parts on top but thats just an estimate of around £60 an hour.

The rear shoes are inside the drum and will maybe be another hour of labour, my suggestion is maybe to get an independant garage to do the work, they wont charge half as much as a main dealer.

The manifold is easy to fit and you could do it yourself, just 6 bolts and 2 brackets to get it off, one PCV valve hose and an earth, think thats all that involved,

There is plenty of help here if needed mate

Thanks every1....Gary, i know some dodgey mechanic dat works for toyota so all is gud :p

With the rolla mani, i got an Aprilo air filter, its looking a bit tired, and i was was wondring would it be a bit better if i left the original airbox and get a K&N panel filter?

what would be a better performance gain on an N/A ??

Thanks

Liking the updates, should look tidy when you get the alloys on :p

I've got an Apiro filter myself (with an aluminium intake pipe to the throttle body)..I had a K&N Panel before..Personally I prefer the Apiro, it has more oomph top-end, and the noise :p

I've kept my K&N though because I might swap back now and again, they're both good set-ups..

You could try cleaning the filter perhaps? Warm soapy water, dry it then see how it goes?

Oh and it would be better if you can sort out a cold air feed to make it more responsive..I've got some cold air piping lying about but haven't had a chance to put it in yet..

i have hit a brick wall :) (metaphorically speaking :) )

i went to halfords and they said i needed a fitting kit for my rims, they said it was £60!!!! WTF! thats more than double what i payed for the wheels! i then asked him what it consisted of, and i quote "the spigot rings that i need, and some bolts" ?

'some bolts'! ??

anyone help?

also if anyone knows how to get a team dynamics diablo's alloy fitting kit for a starlet PM me pleasee (long shot but worth a try :D )

thanks :D

Fuck Halfords, you can put the alloys on straight away if you want, I read up on spigot rings a couple of weeks ago for my sisters car but didn't get any, hers has been fine without any but theoretically you SHOULD use them. You should be ok without them if you're desperate to get the wheels on.

goto ebay for your spigot rings...if u no th diameter of the alloys and your hub ul manage to find the right ones on ebay i did..only cost me £5 for 4 deliverd :).

is your starlet not on studs? or are n/a bolts?

It's the same as any other Starlet, the Halfords monkey was just being a prick, you can use the standard wheelnuts.

Take one of your wheels off, measure the sizes to make sure it's right. Infact I might grab some of them for my sister's Starlet if they're the right size.

You don't need anything else apart from locking wheel nuts which you already mentioned.

The rest is easy, I assume you know how to change wheels? If not it's very simple, all you need is a 21mm socket (I THINK that's the right size, can't quite remember) and a jack. Both of which should come with the car anyway if the previous owners didn't take them out.

and where did you get your import plates from amjad? do you have to send any documents to them?

and i have already noticed the amount of extra grip i have :D and also because of the spigots, the fact that all my wheels are balanced properly and i just got a 4 wheel align, my car doesnt shake when i go past a certain speed on the motorway, and thanks to every1 on this forum that helped me on my wheel problems, really helped :D
