shorty Posted May 16, 2011 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Well done ed is turning into a real beast now you thinking 550's arnt man enough then??mine was hitting 1.4 bar at 4500rpm, but turns out there have been 3 boost leaks so poor old turb was prob boosting like 1.7/1.8 seems ok though tbh. Not sure what the vf35 are like for max boost but my 24 seems strong obviously not boosting her much atm as the map is shite now the leaks are fixed. But enjoying seeing all the vf's graphs now just need a graph from bean too.cheers dude wel i don't think that its 550cc's aren't enough i just think that its MY 550's that aren't quite up 2 it i have had them sat at mine for at least a year and god knows how long they'd bin out of action before that - and they ain't even SARD ones just stock rx7 so i'm guessing that they might be a bit old n past it lol (just like john if your reading dude love you)yer the boost leaks are a real killer check out the difference in these two graphs before and after the boost leaks, one at 16.9 psi with a boost leak and then one at 20 psi without a boost leak, you can clearly see how the boost comes in a lot earlier with a lot more force - the leaks will not have given your figure any good either !! i cant believe i had to turn it back down it would be completely savage with another 30 whp lol and then again if it was another 50 its gunna be mental.i cant wait to see beans graph either REPRESENTING.... Bean Posted May 17, 2011 Share Posted May 17, 2011 im sure i posted in here before but i cant see it. anyway....hopefully you will get it sorted mate, keep us updated as i want to see what it will make, im still running mine in. mine seems to go lean when boost comes in so i have added some fuel into my map but still the wideband is showing its running lean and doing strange things. i think its faulty so im going to check the wiring and see how i get on. im dying to get some boost ran through it. So long as its in good condition, cap and arm, leads and decent plugs. Is your timing definetly on the 4e marks? Im going to be running a dta s60 ecu so controlling the butterflys wont be a problem, I've asked the mapper about it.Mine ticks over around 1k or just over. I've got 2 polly engine mounts so having the idle a little higher helps with the vibrations lol. It drives really nice and smooth up and down the revs. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Bean Posted May 25, 2011 Share Posted May 25, 2011 never mind the bodywork, get it sorted and mapped! ive adjusted my map a bit and had a tuner check my afrs on the road with his wideband as mine is faulty and its running ok. slightly rich at top end so nice and safe for now. im running almost a bar through it now. seems to go well. its not as fast as mini valvers gt but it comes on boost so easily!
