Taking UKSC Forward

Recommended Posts

Below are a few comments i have posted in the JAE 2011 thread

On another note, are we as individuals going to donate to a fund to allow the club stand to be bigger and better than last year, if everyone who is on the stand donates £5 i'm sure this would help towards getting things up and running.

What 's everyones thoughts on this idea?

Lets start now then this gives us plenty of time.

Rob is there a way of setting up an account for people to donate too??

John

Better Marqee, generator, etc non of which comes cheap and as a club we dont generate money for such things and i do believe that this has been covered off by certain individuals.

As a club this has to be the way forward, otherwise we as a club will always be behind the other clubs, second class citizens and i feel after attending all the shows this year we ARE better than that and just need to sort it!!!!!.

What are other peoples thoughts on this subject, or am i just day dreaming??

John

Off subject, what about a raffle for the club supported with prizes from the traders on here??

Mods any takers to pester the traders?

Are there any other suggestions to raise club funds??

Do we want to take the club forward even though as members you are proabley the youngest individuals that own performance/modded cars

Maybe a thread should be started asking the question in how as a group of enthusiasts we take UKSC forward

Just my penny's worth

John

What are everyones thouughts on the above???

At the end of the day being at shows and meets brings our cars to the forefront of peoples attention and all for the right reasons and not the chavvy status that we can sometimes get labelled.

Sorry if it offends anyone or appears i'm ranting.

John

Great idea. I'm up for the club day. Unfortunately in this world, without money, you can't get nowhere. For the sake of the Ep's lets all contribute and make it an awesome club :)

Exactly my point, we just need ideas to generate money!!!!!

As already stated how about a raffle with stuff donated by our traders???

An area were only subscribing members can view, for example the for sale section wether you are selling or purchasing, again an idea

Surely there are other people with ideas????

i was at both japfest and they were both great shows but i just felt like we wernt a big group

by time we got to the stands most people would just park up and walk off

i think we need to get somehting going at the start of each show to socialise for abit before all wondering off

firstly i think the forum needs to ban people with names like ro55ifumi that would make it a better place that way i wouldnt get abused lol

but seriously the sight needs to maybe hold track days ect ??? say a track ticket is £15 they sell em for £17 plus gets the club tgether and more things hapening thou out the year

Yipee people are thinking, this is for US ALL

Yes Ollie you are correct i attended ALL the shows this year and WE ARE A BIG GROUP 40 + cars at Japfest 1 alone, but it needs the buy in of all people.

Track days cost money up front which as a club we do not YET have in our account but the club needs to take the next step to progress which is why i started the post and WE need to raise the profile of the club + get the money to allow such events.

An cock in a sock (lukerboz) shut it boy lmfao

A lot of sites only allows paying members to use the for sale / wanted section of the site, this could be one way to generate money??

maybe paying members get a sticker or something. like the other clubs. obviously without a gift type of thing. people may not pay. fair enough if the money raised is used for generators, marquees etc but what if people can't make weekend shows due to work as they go uni during the week. should they be penalised for using the site although they won't get use out of the proceeds. not a rant just a view. ;)

yeh like the 106owners i used to b on it had a paying members only section so something like that could work?

or maybe every show every1 donates a fiver (like whats been said on the jae 2011 thread) but do it for all shows so if we had enough people go itd generate loadsa money 4 the club

n ollies ideas really good,

when i went to ford and jap show at thorsby i went with the rs owners club and they had raffles and show and shine and stuff like that?

one of the almera clubs im on has club show plates, thought this might be good idea for shows and that?

you could make one for

Standard UK which would be size 520mm x 111mm or

Import which would be size 330mm x 165mm (13" x 6.5")

almera show plate..

What about Club branded products for example:

Mugs

Pens

Keyrings

Car magnets

Banners

Posters (Which could be of a members car)

Mouse Mats

I know its not all exciting stuff but all could go towards the club fund i know a company who makes these products.

merchandise is deffo the way forward

the club can generate money as well as the members getting some goodies for their troubles

am liking the selling tax too even if its £2-£5 a pop for selling cars and maybe items over £100 value say

Excellent idea but we need to generate funds to be able to purchase the products.

OR just get more people to become 'donated' members,

also you cant just expect traders to donate stuff. its not fair on them

The raffle idea with traders supporting would be a one off, and kick start the fund to allow the club to be able to purchase the above!!

Do the traders at the moment actually pay to advertise/sell on here??

As stated by Phil, not everyone will attend shows/track days but if they are a paying member they must recieve some kind of benifit, as i already stated on some sites you can not buy or sell unless you are a paying member.

How about club sticker, yearly newsletter, etc all of which cost money which at present as a club we do not generate.

To MOVE the club forward WE either donate as individuals or as a group and hopefully things will start to happen.

People who dont attend shows can turn up at local meets and have the crack and its surprising the amount of information that can be gained at these meets beside having the crack with like minded individuals.

The last 2 weeks in October i was lucky enough to attend Notts meet,Manchester meet and Sheffield meet!!! even though her in doors reminded me i was out alot again!!! but its about having the crack with a good bunch of folk.
