Shahzad
Hi,I got back from spending a few weeks offshore today. The first thing I noticed when I got to the car that there is condensation in the back lights.I managed to get a puncture on the drive home from Aberdeen.I parked the car outside my house and went in. About an hour later my neighbour knocked on the door to say that he has reversed into my car. My insurance company have sent over a Peugeot 207 sw diesel courtesy car which is rubbish. Here is a picture of the damage to the back panel and the door. Do you think it can be repaired or will they just write it off?
Driver
Not claiming on your insurance you can request them repair it regardless of cost due to "centimental" reasons (as far as i can remember anyway)Also atleast your neighbour told you, most would drive off if nobody saw them ! Stulet-GTT
Bad times but was good of ya neighbor to tell you about it...If the insurance write it off ask if you can stop the claim and As its someone you know get a quote an ask if they wanna settle it outside of insurancem, its worth a try...Some woman opened her door on my car door, i got a quote of £200 to fix it but her husband shoved his head up his arse an wanted his insurance to sort it, i didnt see the point as it was only £200...Hope ya get it all sorted soon chap.. Idrees
So sorry to see this Shahzad, hope it gets sorted with little hassle. Look at those red marks - I don't think your neighbour had the chance to hide!but atleast he told you, both back corners and 1 front corner have scuffs on my car and all three happend within a week! and note 1 note was left saying "sorry, heres my insurance details" Is that all the note said? No details?!
Shahzad
The insurance company called to say that a man will come and see the car on monday.I have not told my insurance that i have gt seats in it. Will that void the insurance?
The Toffinator
Bad luck man, nightmare when something like that happens! And in theory it will void it, but tbh i doubt they will notice? makes sure the stickers are declared as well
Russleh
suerly its a claim against the neighbours insurance company anyway not yours ? thats the whole point in insurance is if you reverse into someone then your company pays for it not the other persons. im sure with the subtle mods that are on it you could easy blag it to someone who didnt know much anyway good luck and sorry to here the trio of bad shit

Shahzad
I got a letter today saying that the value my car at £600 which takes the piss. I have rejected the first quote. They want me to prove that the car is worth more than that. How do i go about it?
starlet1.3si
Accept the quote at 600 but say its worth more in sentimental value i.e passed down from father to son sort of thing that way it will save it from being written off if thats what they have in mind
shorty
In order to prove its worth more you need to find simlar speced, starlets selling for more. Mate had to do that with his escort. Don't accept the 600 they will write it off otherwise!! Fight it out with them. Plus write off should be when the cost of damage is greater than the value of the vehicle, get some quotes from body shops on repair costs
Shahzad
I got a quote for £890 for the repair from a body shop. I am putting a list of cars which have sold from various websites with similar specs and i am going to post it to them on monday.Fingers X
bucketep91
890 quid to fix that wee dent ? its no even that bad
RobSR
That's abit of shit luck dude! Just so you know I think a new rear quarter from Toyota is only about 250quid..so if you know someone who is handy with a welder, do that Was gonna say the insurance would write that off.. Same thing happened to me bro's GT, and he weren't gonna have it written off so, nothing happened in the end, regarding insurance.. Woulda just had to fix it yaself, which takes the pee when someone else did it Lol!
Liam_D
Gutted for you dude! But yeah insurance will 100% write it off. As Starlets arent worth anything anymore. Just except there offer and buy it off them, and repair it yourself dude.
Ryan-11
buy it back and get the quarter panel repaired, looks like most of it will pop out if done right
shorty
but then its a catogory c or what ever wich makes it harder to seel or do anything with in future, i say just argue the toss, even if you end up having to settle at least you should get more than £600 the tight bastards, see ep91 n/a's go for £750-1000 in tidy condition with lowish miles. Shahzad
I had a phone call today saying that its going to be written off as a cat c. They said that i could have £835 or i could have the car back and £720. So i have decided to get the car back as i dont want to let it go to the crusher. My long term plan is to use my glanza donor car to build a sleeper. Do i have to get the body repaired and have a vic check before i do the conversion or should i do all the work at once then try and get it on the road again?
