if you had a 4EFE and a 4EFTE sat infront of you, how would you tell the difference without the turbo etc fited?

also what parts from a 4efe can be used to rebuild a poorly fte? like cam pulleys etc...

oilfilter housing, n/a doesnt have it. the dizzy is a bit smaller, and the breather pipe on the cam cover isnt in the top right corner its more centre'd. and it also says 4efte on the cam pully cover lol

If you know what a 4EFTE looks like then it is quite blatent.

The inlet manifold is different, the rocker cover doesnt have a breather filter, there is no oem oil relocator (as it screws directly on), the manifold is different.

Its quite easy to spot alot of things

Coolant housing is different as the na doesnt have the water lines for the turbo. I think the na doesnt have a knock sensor on the back of the block?

If you have a bare 4efe blok and refit 4efte parts onto it, then it can be difficult to see the difference.

On my 5efhe engine, I have fitted the oil housing, ignition system and oil sump, rocker/valve cover from an 4efte. So you can refit that part onto other E engines.

..different valve springs, thinner hg, different rods, knock sensor, sump, inlet mani/tb, distirbutor, thermo housing, rocker cover, crank pulley..quite a few, but you can swap it all over if needed.
