shorty
lil vac pip on turbo compressor housing to the bottom port on ex waste gate if that dont work post a pic of the setup and we can go from there dude
ollie ryan
okay mate, at the moment i have no vac lines on or off the turbo or wastegate
shorty
thats you problem then id say bud will run off wastegate spring then.
ollie ryan
yeah i just want to run off the spring tho as i have no boost control
TrisK
yeah, so vac goes from the turbo (where it normally goes to your actuator) to the side port on the external wastegate.then when you have boost control, goes from the other port to the solenoid, then to the inlet manifold. then the solenoid plugs electronically to the controller in the cabin
ollie ryan
There is no where on the turbo for a vac line to go tho
RobSR
take it off any boost source then, so inlet etc,... not ideal, but itll work... normally if you have no vac lines, you have unlimited boost :S let us know how you get on..you getting any screamer pipe noise? SiCaln
LinkyAs you can see it has no vacuum connection on the tubby, nor did I ever use one, just ran it off the 0.8 bar spring
ollie ryan
I have no boost at all and nothing coming out the screamer pipe
RobSR
right ok..well, if your wastegate has no vac lines on it what so ever, it means that you could run unlimited boost, seeing as theres no vac source opening the wastegate at the correct time, so id think it would be something turbo side... 100% you have no boost leaks? no IC pips blown off?
SiCaln
yea that's what im thinking, because surely it would be trying to spool even if not making it
TrisK
run a vac line from the inlet to this port on the wastegateThe vac line should come from the turbo, but if you dont have one then just take one from the inlet or any other source
ollie ryan
I will check for boost leaks, but silcan ran this turbo before me without any vac lines on the wastegate and he had no boost problem
SiCaln
nope none at all, i'm also running my current kit like it
RobSR
what so no vac lines on the WG atal?! must have a pretty soft spring and its blowing it open then! that is strangeee...
ollie ryan
i will try7 it once more, if it doesnt work will run a line from the inlet mani
SiCaln
other thought I had, have u checked that the tial is tightened properly all the way round? Think it was but could explain a leak
ollie ryan
I didn't check that, will try that tonight aswell
rorenapier
throw a pic up, from what im reading there is something seriously wrong. There is no way it can hold a constant pressure if there is no vac lines to it. If anything (as stated above) you would get unlimited ammounts of pressure. You have the tial on the correct way round?
RobSR
My thoughts exactly...Surely if the gate was on the wrong way round..you'd still have unlimited boost as it woukld be holding it closed?
BenV
is the ring still in the tial wastegate? ive herd of a few that are missing them and have problems boosting
rorenapier
Indeed, but im ruling out any other issues that could be problems. My thoughts exactly...Surely if the gate was on the wrong way round..you'd still have unlimited boost as it woukld be holding it closed?
