ktl Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 i think they sound crap (sounds like its blowing on idle ) without using it the proper way i.e external waste gate. thats the disadvantage, advantage is that is loud lol. Quote
WallaceGlanza Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Agreed with above, only good with external wastegate as it's not easy to get the screamer to seal with an internal wastegate. Quote
TrisK Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 even with an external wastegate i had a bit of a job getting mine to seal (the gaskets that came with the wastegate were crap and i needed to get copper ones made) Quote
mattyD Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 even with an external wastegate i had a bit of a job getting mine to seal (the gaskets that came with the wastegate were crap and i needed to get copper ones made)what wastegate did you have mate? Quote
Keri-WMS Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Some tracks like Brands Hatch really don't like them due to the noise.... (on trackdays at least) Quote
TrisK Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 what wastegate did you have mate?one of the tial style ones from brand new from keith. (zisco)maybe a turbosmart or whatever would have been better, i dunno Quote
Starlet__SR Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Best just going for a decat without screamer, unless you're running high power, or wanting your car to sound like a tractor. It's a pain having to get it to work properly.D Quote
CLARKYTRD Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 They are ridiculous on an Internal Wastegate setup, I just dont see the point of them, they dont even seal off the wastegate gases from the exhaust gases so it leaks constantly, meaning loss of power and serious increase of noise. They are only suitable and work best with External Wastegate setups.
