morgey
incorrect timing can cause excessive heat i think?
daniel_g
Could be starved of oil or water, causing it to overheat.

MARK@CMBAUTOS
I take it u we're nailing the living shit out of it when this happend ? 95% of manifolds and down pipes will glow after a vary hard run
mattyD
It had a map of 1.2 bar on mateAnd don't matter now engine gone popWhy did you even attempt to turn the boost up? no offence dude but you completely ruined your car in that short space of time! should have gone and got it mapped and no way even messed around with the previous mapping

The Toffinator
What boost did you run it at phil? If it was mapped to 1.2 bar on a TD04 and you ran say 0.8, Yes its not an ideal setup for your car but it would still run okay if a little on the rich side. Sounds like it has been out on the timing, Or been very lean to cause that much heat.If it still turns over its hopefully just the rings...
micky boy
It depends on what size injectors you sould run etc every car is different hence the word getting it mapped! Lesson learnt but it will come out faster stronger better if know you well though Phil Edited September 12, 2012 by micky boy
Jamie1st
Yeah it will be the fact that it had bigger injectors for 1.2bar map!
_shaun_
nah its my old emu still used stock injectors but it was maped for my car so extremely risky to use on another set up. bad news this mate but forged builds are for winners anyway
