Matt1878
Well, I decided to do a 4th gear pull today to see what my boost gauge was reading after I've fitted the JPerformance Manifold and the Blitz Decat..Acording to my gauge (which isn't the best) showed that I peaked at exactly .7 bar but then dropped of to .6 further up the rev range..Is this normal? What could cause this?My setup is:Standard CT9 Turbo JPerformance ManifoldBlitz Decat Blitz Nur Spec ExhaustRW Developments Relocated FilterStandard Actuator Autogauge Boost Gauge Greddy Type S BOVAny help is appreciated ..Matt. daniel_g
My setup will be similar to yours when i'm up and running, you hitting fuel cut ?
Matt1878
Not at all dude... Holds well at bang on .7 bar and then drops off slowly towards the top of the rev range... Fuel cut kicks in at .85bar
daniel_g
Thats properly surprising for standard ct9 and actuator, mustn't have any cracks in your wastegate then.
Matt1878
If not then that would be a rare sight on a CT9 wastegate lol
daniel_g
Mine has no cracks at all, yet to run it though so the seals are probably well fucked haha. Think its a ct9b though, gonna check tomorrow.
A L 3 X
Try a HKS actuator, my boost dropped off when the car was standard, fitted a HKS actuator, the boost came in much quicker and harder, and didn't drop off .Mines for sale if you need one, been lying around since I went external wastegate. turbo Grant
I found filter relocator made it pull hard all the way to redline.
Sefton-EP91
Mine holds at .7 bar and sometimes creeps to .8 then slowly drops back to .7 again. Sounds normal so I wouldn't worry about it
daniel_g
What exhaust you got ?
Matt1878
Blitz Nur spec
DavidAshton
It will be your stock actuator that is causing you to loose boost higher up the rev range. The spring inside will be weak and letting the wastegate fully open so you arn't maintaining a steady boost level. An aftermarket actuator will allow much more stable boost control, then you may want to add an electronic boost controller to get things spot on. StuDoc 72
Its your actuator like said above? Since you have no management I'd leave it exactly as is. You want to stay away from fuel cut as much as possible as constantly rattling off it isnt good for the car.I'd fit an HKS actuator and set it to about .5 or .6 even tho u wont reach .7 like you do now I n garuntee the better holding of boost makes it feel more powerful.I have a tongs ct9 just now with an HKS actuator as im waiting to get more stuff before mapping my emu and even as it is the .5 pisses all over standard ct9 at .9 just a smoother and bigger delivery. Matt1878
I will be getting a hks adjustable actuator very soon and I have placed an order with james@cjperformance for a depo EBC.These combined and I should be able to keep a steady boost level.. Amjad
Surprised you didn't do the actuator earlier! On HKS actuator ported CT9 mine holds 1.0-1.1 perfectly
Matt1878
I now have a HKS actuator and a depo EBC... Yet to be fitted but should make a good difference
