mark-tozer
im looking at getting some new uprated headlight bulbs. what make are you using.
StuDoc 72
I use HID's which arent exactly legal anymore. I also have MTEC bulbs in my corsa which are legal and are pretty much identicle to HID's in the are of them being nice and white rather than yellow they just arent as blinding. Liam_D
Heard of a lot of people running PIAA bulbs pretty expensive for bulbs but they're what I'm planning on running in mine when I get some spare cash
morgey
Im going to be looking at this when i get some new headlights i think i can see further using a couple of candles lol
DavidAshton
I use these, can't fault them more than enough light in all condtions: http://www.philips.co.uk/c/car-lamps/x-tremevision-h4-12-v-55-w-12342xvb1/prd/ I had HID's and tbh they looked shite, HID's do not belong in a 14 year old car, they blind everyone and make you look like a bell end. turbo Grant
Osram bulbs are good. H.I.D lights are fine on our cars as long as they are both the same colour and have a pattern. On 2008 cars on need head light washers or self levelling son we don't need to worry about that
mattyD
are there any side light bulbs that can kinda match those philips ones?
Liam_D
I use SMD sidelight bulbs they'll match the Phillips ones nicely
mark-tozer
im thinking of ring xenon ultima and osram nightbreaker plus. studoc 72 i dont want to use hid's as i have had bad experiences with them not lasting long and older headlights scatter the beam everywhere the only thing with them they do look good. david ashton ill have a look at them philips ones. StuDoc 72
You might find the length of the hid's is down to the ballast moving around or the power switch being auto instead of manual? http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/categories/mtec-bulbs/mtec-halogen-bulbs/cosmos-blue Thats the MTEC ones I have on my VXR they look just like HID's and are brighter than regular bulbs. Good selection on that site and well priced.
mark-tozer
ok thanks ill have a look
loguey
I got myself a set of osram night breakers from euro car parts, good price like £14 the pair i think, certainly light up enough of the road and i live in the sticks.
Dickydan
There any good white hid replica sort bulbs guys? Notice most of these you are posting are blue
StuDoc 72
Most of them produce a white light. Click on my link above go to MTEC bulbs at the top and a menu will drop down where you can select Diamond white and Super White Bulbs.
starletburkie
55w bulbs are still guna be shite in starlets, I've osram nightbreakers and they look better than stock but are still shite! go with 100w bulbs
StuDoc 72
There is a 100w option in cosmos blue and super white. Have to agree 55w just does not cut it.
starletburkie
ya im tempted to buy some myself but I've blown my money on a turbo kit lol
StuDoc 72
I can recommend them they look exactly like HID's and are far better than yellow haly's for light.
