Taggy
I have found an abandoned car which has been sat in the same position for the last two years, its in a carpark under my mates flat and has sat there for over 2 years without moving. Its covered in dust, flat tyres but otherwise mint. Its a Honda Accord 2.2CDTI Exectutive registration YM04VZD, the tax ran out about 2 years ago so it all ties in with being Abandoned, its parked in a parking space which is reserved for flats which were never made, so its the reason no one has never queried it being parked there as the space doesnt currently belong to anyone. I spoke to DVLA and i just need to fill out a V62 to get them to send me a new log book for it, they will try to contact the keeper and if they dont respond in 30 days they will issue with me a log book, at which point i can start work on getting keys and moving it! I just need to check to see if its stolen first though and also not a ringer, anyone got any cheap ways to get a HPI on it? Its over 4k of car for nothing so fingers crossed lol!! TrisK
Quickly looking at this Tag, it appears that is true. But it only reregisters it with you as the registered keeper, not the legal owner. This means if the the owner wants it back at any point, its his. Atleast thats what the guys on pistonheads seeem to think
Taggy
Yeah DVLA told me that the V5 can be put in my name, but it doesnt make me the owner, so in 5 years time the owner could come back and take the car if he can provide a proof of sale. But even if that happens as its abandoned and i have been storing it on my own private land, i can charge from the day i move it storage fees, so if he ever comes back I will say yeah you can have it back once you pay me the £20 a day storage fees which i have been charging to keep it at mine. Which is the same as what the tow people do so after a set amount of time the fees will become more than the cars value. Edited February 18, 2013 by Taggy

Fozzie
The thing I can't help but wonder is what the hell happened to the owner? Did they just forget they owned a car and start walking everywhere lol?? Edited February 18, 2013 by uberphil88
Taggy
Yeah i would like to know the story behind it, maybe he died, or more likely a foreign person who has gone back home and just left it there, weird aint it! Its a nice car too, its the executive model so its full leather inside, very strange, i was just joking to my mate we havent looked in the boot, maybe there is a dead body in there or better still a bag of money and 10kg of coke ha ha Edited February 18, 2013 by Taggy
Fozzie
Yea I was thinking that it looked pretty smart to just abandon! Not exactly cheap either! Hope there's no bad smell in it when you finally get the key haha ;)
